Do you ever get the urge to google things in real life?

For example: Was about to look for a CD I know is hidden in my room, when I said to myself for half a second that I'd google the room for it and then just go straight to the part of the room where it is, rather than scouring the room till I found it, and had a vague mental image of myself doing a google search of the room.
    Damn internet's reshaping my brain!

I've often wished my printed notes had a Ctrl-f function when I'm looking for one line out of 50 pages.

Google things in real life? What have I been using Google in before?

My room is pretty safe, just a tad messy. There used to be a monster in my wardrobe when I was a kid but I haven't seen him in a while.

I'm not sure exactly, but I think it lives in the world where Tron takes place. I think it's the big red evil face at the end (not Brian Cowen btw).

Nope, but I've often thought of ringing the remote control for the TV when I can't find it.

I do get the random urge to google for things I DONT WANT to see.

    Googled a "beheading"

Watched the video. For someone that has a rather strong constitution, i almost vomited and 3 days later find myself rubbing my neck during the day.

    Yea.. allahu akbar. *****

Ask one of the orderlys to help you look next time they are doing their rounds dispensing your meds.

No, but I have tried to open my house with my car remote. Disappointingly it doesn't work no matter how long you stand there clicking.

I've tried that, but they claim that the dense foliage I have to search through isn't even in the room!

    No, that's a bit weird.

But sometimes when I lose things other than my phone I think (out of habit) "oh I'll just ring it". Then I remember that you can't ring keys or a remote control.

Don't cycle much but when I do I'm looking for the wing mirrors and rear view on the road.

I think of ringing things I've lost as well, I think we're just too used to certain pieces of technology.
I won't try ringing my CD though. It's on Meteor, it'd cost too much. Might try skyping it...

After disembarking from my motorcycle, I will continue to perform lifesavers as I walk along the streets.

The pavements are dangerous out there.

I always wished it were possible to ring my things when I'm in a hurry but can't seem to find them. Also, I'd love to have the restore function in my life. :D

    Edit.

    Find in this pub.

    'sluts'

    12 matches.

    Select all.

    Enter.

    Paste special.

    escape.

I know exactly what you mean. In waking moments I can get confused between real life and the internet. And I was 28 or 29 before the internet became widespread really. So I've regressed. I need a computer brain train game. I also sometimes stand in front of a door that doesn't open automatically, and then when I have to figure out whether to push it or pull it, and then expend all that energy doing one or the other, I think, fgs, do I have to do everything??

I also used to get "Tony Hawks vision" when I was playing Tony Hawks 3 regularly when I was younger. Would see every surface as a potential for some grinding on my imaginary skateboard, and I'd spot surfaces I could jump between to get lots of points for getting "gaps".
Would also find it quite weird after playing GTA III when I saw cars driving on the left, and saw groups of pedestrians clumped together as nice potential sources of revenue by being run over. Good thing I was too young to drive then...

Now I will have to resist doing that. Already I feel like Father Dougal in the cockpit trying to resist the flashing red button.

I thought I was the only one that thought that. It comes into my monf every time I sit down with notes more than 3 or 4 pages long.

In the cinema, when I miss a piece of dialog, have occasionally had the thought that I should rewind it a little.

I always try to Bing things in real life..

I've often wished for an undo button in real life.

Also, I spent a bit of time playing mario kart and found myself resisting the urge to swerve when the driver ahead of me threw a ciggie out his window. My first thought was to avoid the "banana skin".

Whenever I'm arguing about trivial bullsheet with my friends and family I often joke "TO THE INTERNET" to solve the problem by just googling it. I'm glad I don't have a smartphone, I'd never stop gewglin'.

Yes. I've also written an email address on a physical letter by accident when in a rush. Due to a distinctive domain name you'd be surprised how well that worked out.

I often find myself reading a paper in class or likewise and trying to find a certain sentence but can't find it so I try ctrl+f in real life...

I do the same thing when I'm in a stadium watching a match and miss a goal or big incident.

I thought you meant google for the CD , and then download it

Actually it woud probably be quicker than looking for the physical object

You're right, I don't know how I didn't even think of doing that.
Though I did actually find it after a little old-fashioned analogue searching.

What happens when the OP sees a girl he likes in the street? You reckon he's thought about google-ing her?

A while back I had an unfounded and incorrect suspicion that one of my friends was gay. For a second I thought about using google to find out.

Some times if I can't find something I'll think about ringing it for a second. Then I cop on.

I try to click on them to see if they have any more pictures!

Y'know you've been using a computer too long if you've ever googled "My car keys."... or if you're transcribing something down from the screen onto a notepad then reach over to the keyboard and ctrl-s. I forgot that a Biro automatically saves my work as I go.

I getcha! My big thing is losing my phone so i always have to ring it. I always think why can't i just call things i lose like my purse or house keys to find where they are! Life would be so much easier!

Haha! I'm not the only nutter:p. I often do that when walking across the road, on a corner. Though I must say I think driving has made me a safer walker:)
