    lads,

The wife noticed I have started consuming fairly large amounts of these as snacks in the evening.
I am also very partial to a dried apricot or four.
I realise compared to chocolate ect they are a far better alternative, but am I likely to start seeing this around my gut soon enough ?

    Thanks
    Rob

if you're eating more calories than you need than you will gain fat on your body. Simples. the danger with these is that they are so so easy to over do. A fistful of almonds could be 50gms easily which is approx 250cals!

thanks - in fairness I am getting no where near 50gsm as the 200gsm packet I have is there a couple of weeks now.

I thought the sultanas might be an issue actually.

Dried fruit is full of sugars
Nuts (and less so seeds) are pretty calorie dense due to the fat content.

But if you allow for them they are fine. This week i'm eating 50g of nuts and seeds a day. I bought a box with 50g portions in it. 280cals
Last week I had a 30g box of almonds and cranberries (canberries are lower in sugar then the other it appears) 150 cals

I count these as on of my snacks so its fine. But I would suggest mindlessly snacking on them. too easy to go over board
