Low Acid/High Alkaline meals for the time poor

I need to change my current diet to a low acid/high alkaline one and am struggling for ideas. After reading multitudes of web sites and conflicting statements on which foods are ok or not, I haven't really got my head around what I can eat. Once I have a few simple recipes which don't take too long to prepare (and are appetising) I will at least have a starting point.

It seems spuds/any thing processed/booze/bread/wheat are out. Generally I have a quality nutty&fruity muesli with milk or porridge with milk for breakfast. For lunch a salad with lettuce & toms & corn & kidney beans & beetroot & cucumber & peppers & ham/cheese/tinned mackeral/tuna with a bag of crisps. A few apples as snacks and then dinner is the usual mash, two or three veg and some meat. Followed by either a fruit salad or tart with natural yogurt. Usually a bar of cadburys along way too.

Almost all of breakfast ideas seem to revolve around eggs. Are there any options for something I don't need to cook and will fill me up. Lunch I'm ok, just cut out the crisps and chocolate. Apples are ok I think. Then dinner... cut out the mash and double the veg portion? And then no booze.

The sites http://www.outofstress.com/low-acid-diet-foods/ and http://www.everydiet.org/diet/acid-alkaline-diets list foods which fall into each category but there are some contradictions. And I've also read meat is good but a lot of sites say the opposite.

    Any pointers/suggestions/ideas most welcome.

The easiest way to make any meal alkaline is to throw in loads and loads of vegetables. Cut out the sugar, grains, coffee, alcohol, etc. Drink herbal tea or hot water with lemon in it. Eat organ meat or fish rather than steak. Eat fresh food, avoid the processed stuff.

The acid/alkaline food balance thing is pseudoscience as far as I can see. Still, no harm in cutting out processed grains and eating more vegetables

    Why organic meat?

And I assume vegetables don't include spuds. Are stir frys ok or does the veg need to be boiled or steamed? And I was thinking about doing a chucky soup. Are lentils ok? And are any of the stock cubes available in a supermarket ok for a soup?

I trust the practitioner I went to and believe that if he says I'm too acidic and it could lead to such and such, then I should listen. The diagnosis and treatments have been remarkable in their accuracy and are rarely based on conventional medicine. Regardless, as you say eating more veg is never a bad thing.

How did he ascertain that you were too acidic, may I ask?

I don't know much about this acid/alkaline issue, but what was said was organ meat, not organic meat. As in offal. Google it.

Apologies, I thought that was a typo. Its a long time since I've eaten any of those. And I doubt I'll be putting it back on the menu. Tongue used to be lovely and lean. I haven't seen it in years.
