Bought a Dell Vostro 3700 a few months back and I decided to go through the BIOS and add a password, change settings to my liking etc. but I came across something called "Computertrace option". Its currently disabled and I'm guessing its something to do with tracking the computer but does anyone have any idea what it exactly is? I haven't been able to find much on Google about it.

when you are buying a current dell there is some group you can subscribe to which track a laptop if its stolen.. apparently most major manufacturers now - toshiba, packard bell, dell etc have it built into the bios...even if you dont subscribe..
its built into the bios so it cant be removed...so basically its a perfect way to ensure it cant be stolen...
well it can be but the can never go on the internet with it :)

    thats my thoughts anyway...
