What sort of questions do you ask?

Do you ask, what is it that defines me? Do you ask whether you exist or whether maybe your existence is an illusion? Do you think about why you prefer that to this? What do you think when you see an event for the first time, and then realise that it could be your last view of it.

Do you observe the smiles of children? The dog strolling through the park during early hours, free to roam in a green space, an oasis in a desert of brick and concrete? Do you watch lovers exchange their gazes, and wonder why it is happening and why with that person and not with the countless other people living on the planet. Do you gaze at the night sky and ask yourself, will I be there one day?

I often ask is it too early to go too the pub. I give not a fúck whether the pub truly exists or not or the nature of time, I just check the position of the sun in relation to the yardarm and off I go. Philosophical perfection acheived.

You’ve got to be kidding me. I’ve been further even more decided to use even go need to do look more as anyone can. Can you really be far even as decided half as much to use go wish for that? My guess is that when one really been far even as decided once to use even go want, it is then that he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like. It’s just common sense.

I go to a Banks ATM (an ATM from a bank I don't have the account with).

How, when I try to withdraw money from the ATM it can tell me I have insufficent funds...

But if I go to the ATM and ask for a balance inquiry, they cannot because my account is not with them....

That really bugs me.... for some strange reason.

If you make the sandwich, and there's no one around to see you make it.............is it still a tuesday?

Do you ask, what is it that defines me?

My friends, family, and personal experiences in life.
Do you ask whether you exist or whether maybe your existence is an illusion?

I know I exist, a swift kick in the balls surely proves without doubt you're real.
Do you think about why you prefer that to this?

Not really, I like Nutella. I don't care why, it just tastes good to me.
What do you think when you see an event for the first time, and then realise that it could be your last view of it.

If you're realising "this will be the only / last time I'll see this" then you're not truly experiencing the event.
Do you observe the smiles of children?

    I hate kids.
The dog strolling through the park during early hours, free to roam in a green space, an oasis in a desert of brick and concrete?

It's a dog, it's either just going to piss over everything or start chewing on some rubbish left by some skanger.......or it might just stop on the path and leave a nice meaty shìt cigar. I've no reason to look at one.
Do you watch lovers exchange their gazes, and wonder why it is happening and why with that person and not with the countless other people living on the planet.

No, because nobody wants to watch a couple get all smoochy and schmaltzy in public.
Do you gaze at the night sky and ask yourself, will I be there one day?

No, I stare at the sky and wish I was waaaay off in the distance of the universe. Won't happen in my lifetime but that's what sci-fi movies are for :pac:

I have often pondered one of life's great mysteries......what is the purpose of belly button fluff?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 64 ✭✭Contemplating Aristotle

You may think that questions surrounding sandwiches, pubs and ATM machines are trivial, but you are wrong. To ask a question about a piece of food or a machine in a wall is to question existence as much as to ponder the alignment of the stars and planets and why we have life here on the earth. Each question is important, each questions relates to existence, to question is to be observe and without observation, there is no reality.

If I wanted to train for a vocation like an engineer or a plumber, I would have done so. Im happy to devote a few years of my life to seeking a greater understanding of the world rather than training to work for some souless greedy multinational.

For collecting and bottling in jars, so you can whisper to them on a cold winter's eve.

    How does one define importance?

Finding a toilet when you're touching cloth is important

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,439 ✭✭✭Kevin Duffy

    How does one define importance?

The time I spend in the pub x time spent looking for ATM x time spent seeking sandwhiches = total importance. Or not.

Are we not happy with sufficient sustenance? Should one desire an expensive car and mansion if they are gained at the expense of happiness, working in a soul destroying job in a world that doesnt care? Is it not better to be happier, even if a bit poorer?

why would you assume any job that pays well is a soul destroying one, for a soulless greedy multinational?

As opposed to actually wanting to have a job and not be on the soul destroying social welfare? You're painting with an extremely broad paintbrush as if the only jobs out there are high paying ones in evil moustache-twirling organisations.
