Does anyone know where to get some parallettes here in Ireland or shipped from somewhere to here at a reasonable price? I am useless at building things so would like to buy them but have had no luck with ebay. Or would it indeed be easier just to build a set?
    Thanks!

They're incredibly easy to build, you just need four elbow joints, four T joints, a hacksaw and a length of 1.5 inch diameter pvc pipe.

Going to make a set myself tomorrow

Has anyone managed to make a pair of these? Want them soooo bad! Cannot find anywhere to buy a pair that doesn’t cost a fortune – the prices are ok, it’s mainly the shipping costs more than the actual equipment!!!

Thinking about making a pair but heard the pvc piping in Ireland isn’t that strong and that the 90 degree joints aren’t easy to get either?? Was thinking of trying to find some wood to insert to strengthen? – or any ideas what else you could put in?

Anyone made these with any success and could you tell me where you got the piping and bits from? And roughly how much it cost?

Would appreciate any help! Thanks :)

Thanks for reminding me on this, i've been putting this off for months now, Xmas will be as good a time as any to get the finger out! PVC piping all the way very cheap materials and inexpensive. I'd say you could have it all build for 20 or 30 yoyos.

Got them from a company called Beaverfit about a year ago. Just Google it and you'll find the site. There were two different sizes avail, the ones I got worked out around 80 Inc postage but I think the other one was cheaper.

Really nice guys to deal with, they make them from scratch when you order so you can get them any colour you like too.

Those pipe fittings would cost a lot here, if just going into the likes of woodies.

Instead of strengthening with wood, just make it from wood. On forums I read people invariably prefer wooden gymnastic rings over plastic or metal. I prefer chinups on a wooden bar, no varnish just raw wood. The design in the linked earlier is nice & simple.

You should be able to get thick wooden poles in a hardware shop, used for stakes or handles for a shovel or something. Some more ideas, just search in google images

I made a dip station from an old table being thrown out. This time of year you might get people throwing furniture out so keep your eyes peeled!

PVC piping is fairly cheap from any plumbing suppliers and 90 degree bends are readily available, your plumbing doesn't just work in straight lines.

Don't go to woodies you'll pay twice the price.
