Today is my birthday and it seems like the only way people know is thorough facebook. Like people who I haven't seen in years, or who I haven't even met before are wishing me happy birthday, surely this isn't normal? What did people do before facebook? I make I point of not wishing anyone happy birthday unless I personally know that it:'s their birthday, does anyone else do this?

It's funny when someone frapes someone else and changes their birthday. The amount of people that post "Happy Birthday" on their walls...

no. your strange. the only reason you didnt wish distant friends happy birthdays before facebook is because you didnt know it was their birthday. now with facebook you do know, so why the hell would you purposely not wish them a happy birthday.

Would you purposely not wish someone a happy Christmas? Why bother being friends with someone on Facebook and then get disgruntled when they wish you a happy birthday? With your attitude you should be grateful they've taken the time out to wish you a happy birthday!!

I'm not disgrunteled by it, i'm just wondering how people ever managed before it! Like were dates in a diary or what? And I only posted that it was my birthday as I thought it was relevant, no need to say happy birthday :p

Nobody really knew it was your birthday before unless you told them. Now Facebook tells them.Handy.

I never understood this. I thought facebook was about people you knew personally, not some random strangers? A place like boards is for chatting to strangers. All the people I'm "friends" with, I actually am in real life, not some stranger I talked to over PSN or something.

i'm on it and have it hidden..most ppl i know will text or call to say it.. the rest "need" a reminder and they aint worth the thought in all honesty.. truth is you'll always remember whose important to you:):)

Don't post your birthday on Facebook so. Simples

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

When my friends did that to me, even my aunt posted "Happy Birthday". Although there were more people saying that it wasn't my birthday than there were wishing me happy birthday.

It's kinda like the tree falling in the wood question...

If you aren't on Facebook, does that mean your birthday doesn't exist?
