I'm a little worried about how he'll handle this one...possibly the most sensitive issue to come up since he took over...

    David gray is on

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,184 ✭✭✭✭Pighead

There's a set of quads from Carrickmacross who recently celebrated their 30th birthdays on as well. Is 'set of quads' the right term to use actually? Doesn't sound right. Maybe a load of quads or a gaggle of quads. Although that tends to imply that there are many sets of quads appearing on the show which isn't the case. Anyway, Pighead will definitely be tuning in to find out for once and for all the collective name for quads. Should be a really interesting and gripping topic.

I'm guessing that the interview will go something like: So McCann is an Irish name. Tell me about that.

Actually that didn't stop them continuing with Paul Rodgers. Sacrilege!

If I could only get RTE, though. Be interesting to see how RT handles this.

    Christian Louboutin is a guest.

    He's a shoemaker or something.

I always thought his name was 'Louis Bouton', it's been educational already.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 374 ✭✭pocketvenus

He also has Christian Louboutin on the show. ( Makes designer shoes for anyone who hasn't got a clue who he is.)

On his show he said he has to bring in a pair of Louboutin shoes belonging to someone close to him for Christian to sign. There wont be a free pair for everyone in audience apparently!!!!!!!!

I have to say going from the McCanns to CL is some change.

Mind you from what he said on radio this morning the McCanns will be treated with kid gloves. A texter asked him would it be a hard interview meaning would he asked them the questions like why won't them admit they were wrong to leave 3 babies alone etc.
Of course he pretended not to understand what texter meant by a hard interview and said of course it be hard as it is so sad and tradgic.

All week he is getting very pissy that people have little feeling or sympathy for the McCanns only little Madaline. He either ignores the texts or get real snotty but saying oh people who say that are holier than thou and have high moral ground.

Even this morning when someone asked him would leave his two children alone he was raging and got real snotty and cannot fully remember his reply but something to effect oh all parents leave the kids alone and that no way could any parent hurt their child or cover up an accident. I mean WTF Ryan and you call yourself a journalist. Google that and you see that in the majority of cases it is parents or someone close to the child who are involved.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 9,441 ✭✭✭old hippy

All the same, I do feel sorry for the McCann's. Yes, they did wrong to leave the kids alone but their daughter is gone. It is tragic.

You can see where people are coming from. Every night for 2 weeks they went out for dinner and drinks and left 3 children under the age of 3 alone for hours in an unlocked apartment. While they were a good 5 mins down the road. I mean come on that is looking for trouble.

Then there is no investigation into this obvious child neglect. If this was a couple from a working class or not so nice postal area they would be hounded in media and social services would be in & charges brought.

Hundreds of people would love children and cannot have them or parents who would never think of leaving their kids like that for a minute and then you have to listen to the McCann saying they did nothing wrong. I can see why people are annnoyed.

I bet they would not go off and leave a wallet with money or gold jewlery out in the open so why leave the most precious thing you have your children.

So why doesn't Jamie Bulger's Mother get abuse for letting her Toddler wander off with strangers?

Because she did not leave her child in an apartment alone for hours on end while socialising. She had him beside her within two seconds while placing an order he left her side and the 2 f****rs took him and lead him away.

Very different cases and cannot be compared. That poor woman in no way can be compared to McCanns and what they did.

Yep and it is a view called responsible parenting. They will have to live with what they have done for the rest of their lives and that is some punishment but at end of day it is that little child who has has paid the biggest price whatever happened to her and that who the sympathy and concern should be for.

I see both sides of the argument and yes of course you can have sympathy for them but can equally see why people are less inclined to have any. Being open minded is important.

Anyway head to the AH thread on this is you want a discussion on it. Plenty going on over there where you can wade in.

Ah Skid, I'm completely shocked

Jamie Bolger wandered away from his mother while they were out shopping, children get lost in supermarkets every day of the week. Even the best parent in the world can get distracted for a few minutes.

I am not throwing accusation around if you read my posts properly all I am stating is facts that have been reported and that I can see why some people would have little sympathy.

FACT is they left 3 children under the age of 3 alone in an apartment which had a door open apparenty while they went out for dinner and drinks.

Now an sensible person would tell you that is not a wise decision. The child could have woken up and fallen and hurt herself or gone out and got lost. That be one of the first things would be worry about.

I do not need to read her book. Do you think if I read it it takes away fact they did something wronfg or that a grieving mothers emotive writings will make it ok.

    latest news on the McCanns.

David Cameron's decision to ask British police to investigate Madeleine McCann's disappearance has been criticised as being "like a PR exercise"

This could be tubridys last show if he does not cock this one up.
I cant see him handle this if he asks the wrong questions.

Today on his show he said he was going to ask them everything as people have their own views on this, but what will he ask is the question.

If he does then why not the same treatment for ronan cheating?
He defends the MCcaans at every opportunity then turns around and says he will grill them.....
All eyes will be on this show tonight it could be a good or bad result.

Ronan Keating is a private citizen and what he does in his private life is his business. It's been exposed in the tabloid media anyway, what more do you want? And who cares?

This will not be a make or break interview, the figures for the Late Late are still quite healthy (no idea why).

I did read your post properly actually, which is why im telling you that you should read her book.

+ How can you say it was FACT...and then have apparently in the same 'FACT' .

Perhaps you should read her book pocketvenus, she has in no way tried to cover up that leaving the children alone was the right thing to do. You have only read what it has been reported in tabloids, which as she said in the book herself- is not someone who cares about the child, but has an editor screaming down the phone at them that they need 800 words for the morning. This is the other side of the story, you said you can see both sides but have only ever read one!

Because she did not leave her child in an apartment alone for hours on end while socialising.

From what I remember, they did what most parents did in that complex (i.e. leaving the kids in the room while going for a meal). The parents obviously felt it was safe enough to leave the kids in the room while they went for a meal... otherwise they would not have left them there.. And it's not like they went out on a complete bender and came back the next day.. They were checking in on them periodically..

It's easy to apply your high morals retrospectively, now that that one in a billion chance of something awful happening has actually happened... They seem like responsible parents, and werent to know that their child was targeted by somebody for abduction.. In hindsight it was a bad call, but I'm sure if they had known that there was somebody in the vicinity of the hotel attempting to abduct a child, there is no way that they would have left the kids alone.

I actually feel really sorry for them.. Maddie was such a beautiful child, and it's absolutely horrible to think of what may have happened to her. You could only hope that possibly she was taken by somebody who just wanted a child and that maybe she is being looked after well, but from the sketches of the suspected perpetrators, that seems unlikely.... :(:(:(

Ah ffs.. it's only quarter past six and you've already got me depressed,... That's Tubridy's fkn job..
