Novel Stretching

    Hi,
    Anyone got any stretches that can be done while doing your day's work?

    I used to have terrible piriformis pain/tightness giving me almost sciatica like symptoms until 3 weeks ago.

    Since then i started sitting on 2 sliothars during the day at work. Piriformis has loosened considerably. No more pain, after 4 years of it!

    I've also used this same method to stretch Quad Lumborus, hams, glut med, max etc. Basically anything i can sit on!

    Anyone figure out a way of stretching psoas and iliacus while sitting. If a chair has arm rests, then maybe use a stick under them and press up with your hips into it?



    Any others?

    I like that idea.... but how the hell did you manage to stretch your quadratus lumborum by sitting on a sliotar?? :confused:

    Lol - you really have to bear down to hit QL :)

    Put the balls on the forward facing side of the back of the chair. Then press your back into them

    Just found another trigger point on my ham close to the knee - biceps femoris i think. Nearly fainted :)

    Just occured to me that you can get some excellent myofascial release on hip flexors & quads just using your elbows as you sit at your desk. lol
