Just looking for opinions on this app http://itunes.apple.com/ie/app/nike-training-club/id301521403?mt=8 and the exercises in it. Hoping to lose some weight about 2.5 stone. I’m going to start the couch to 5k program. Just wondering if doing some of the different programs on the app would be beneficial or if I will be wasting my time.

    Thanks in advance

I dont have this app but I use 2 other apps. The free "Nike+ iPod" and the paid app "Nike+ GPS". To be honest I would be very reluctant to buy another Nike app.

The friend system on Nike+ is severely flawed and their website is flash based, thus relegating the mobile version to a limited functionality. You can still do the couch to 5k programs with the above apps.

I did the 10k training program using the app but stopped after a few days as there is no flexibility to tweak training days after you kick off the program. I managed it manually afterward which defeated the purpose.

Hope this is of some benefit.

The app is free, I was just going to pick a program each time I use it
One of the workouts in the intermediate ‘get lean’ section is 30 mins long and includes:

    1 min knee high runs
    2 min straight leg kicks
    1 min slide and glide
    1 min walking lunges
    2 min recover
1 min alternating medicine ball push up
    1 min squats
    30 sec squat jumps
    30 sec split jumps
    1 min recover
1 min knee high runs in place
    30 sec broad jumps
    30 sec ski jumps
    1 min plank

And so on this workout also includes wall sits, dips, and it has some stretches at the end. The app has three sections Beginner, intermediate and advanced with about six different workouts in each. Some are 30 minutes long and some are 45.

You've got a list of what to do, what do you need the app for?

    Get a clock.

I already have the app. I was just wondering if the exercises on it are beneficial or not.

I need the app because I haven’t got a clue what most of these exercises are or how to them correctly.

I did a workout with the "Nike master trainers" as part of a promo when this was launched & it was a killer! Definitely felt thoroughly worked out after it - the recovery minutes were spent jogging btw.
