Its going to be a busy summer :)

I managed to get tickets to Wimbledon so heading to that for a day.
20th of June to 3rd of July.. You can que up on the day. First 500 people will get tickets to center court and another 3000 are up for grabs.

A couple of hours outside London is the Goodwood festival of speed. I managed to get on the team to help run it so free ticket for the weekend I went last year and it is a fantastic day out. F1 cars, Rally cars classic cars the lot. It really has a festival feel to it unlike a boring motor show.
1st of July to 3rd July

Its sold out but Munford & sons are having a concert in Hyde park ( if anyone has a spare ticket or two PM me ;)
    30th of June

Dylan Moran is doing a tour and is coming to London on the 14th & 16th of July

Ah the Good Ship! We had a good but hazy night in there with the London boardsies meet up last summer... not in my neighbourhood anymore sadly but if anyone fancies checking out the new gorgeous Red Lion pub in Leytonstone (forgive me!) let me know. plans are for gigs/djs later on I think, as it has just opened.. they're part of a nice set of pubs...

David Lynch double bill in Prince Charles Cinema next Tuesday - Wild At Heart (18:15) and Blue Velvet (20:50). I'd be up for it, but could probably only make Blue Velvet. Anyone?

Unfortunately I'm missing this as I'm away, but +1 for the PCC (and for David Lynch). Love that place! Their Schwing-along with Wayne's World remains one of the funniest nights I've ever had in a cinema. And the Christmas double bill line-up also looks awesome (hello Muppet Christmas Carol and Die Hard!).

I do actually like the sound of this, I’ve been meaning to get back into cross-stitch and I have an idea of something I’d like to make (can you just turn up with an existing project? Or does it have to be something activisty?)

I think technically you should turn up with something activisty, but myself and another girl came with crochet and knitting, and weren't turned away! Almost everyone else had embroidery or cross stitch and there were little packs to buy as well if you wanted..I found a wee Christmas tree card (cross stitch) in WH Smith last week that I am going to bring as back up to the next one as I felt a bit bold (rebelling!) but I have been informed that IKNIT London also meet in the South Bank on different days and they encourage all types of crafters (which sounds more appealing to me).

    http://craftivist-collective.com/events/

The Craftivist people were nice but there were about 6 out of the 15 or so there who were journalists/reviewers so I would prefer to chat to people who are there for the same reasons as me, random stuff as opposed to feeling like I was being interviewed...I am sure it will vary month to month tho..

    http://www.iknit.org.uk/knittinggroup.html

Im well eager to go to anything Fishie once I know a little in advance!

David O'Doherty at The Bloomsbury in June

I think this was posted somewhere but the amazing Tieranniesaur (along with a few other good Irish bands) are playing gigs over St. Patrick's Day weekend. Two of which are free afternoon shows.

I'm already going to the Whipping Boy gig, I hadn't made the connection that it was the Patrick's Day weekend :o

I probably wouldn't be going if Tieranniesaur weren't playing. Hopefully I enjoy Whipping Boy but I won't get my hopes up after reading about some of their reunion shows.

Another gig coming up - Andy Irvine (of Planxty, Sweeney's Men, Mozaik, Patrick Street etc.) is playing the Irish Centre on April 14th. Any lovers of trad and folk should check this out. I've probably seen him play solo or in bands at least 20 times since I discovered him. He's an incredible performer.

Christy Moore was the first proper gig I ever went to (was serving bar at the time). Would definitely be up for him in April. Same with the trad really

Can strongly recommend this one! I saw it in Galway a while back and going to see it again on Monday. Tickets aren't too expensive if you don't mind not sitting right at the front.

And on the plus side you get to see a lot of Cillian Murphy ;)

Hi, I've recently moved over to London from lovely Limerick! I'm not sure if it classifies as an 'event' so sorry if this is in the wrong place, but I'm looking for people to go rock climbing with. Preferably in Mile End but I'd be willing to consider one of the others as well (once my monthly pass is up). If you haven't done it before it's great fun and an excellent way to keep fit... I only have a couple of months experience and I'm not particularly good at it so you definitely won't feel intimidated if you're a beginner!

Here's a link to the Mile End site if you're interested: http://www.mileendwall.org.uk/. All the prices are there as well.

    Cheers!

    Cheers!

Hey, I moved to London a few months ago and now that I finally got my climbing gear back from Galway, I'm looking for people to climb with too! I wouldn't mind going to Mile End as long as it's at the weekend (a bit far for evening climbing sessions). So definitely interested!

Excellent - Weekends are mostly good for me. I'll PM you my phone number, call or send a text any time you'd like to go! The Castle, as mentioned above, also looks amazing and if that suits you better I don't mind going there (again once my month pass is up!).

    Cheers!

I'm not a hardcore Star Trek fan but this should still be amazing!
