Was on the cover of the Sindo - apparently there was a group of people pressing his intercom, he thought they were trying to get in and came out to protect his family. The group scattered but one guy stayed and apparently he was hit over the head quite badly.

According to Graham, there was an intruder in his house, according to the guy's family he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time....

Mikey thought the chap was looking for an autograph, and as such was mentally ill and posed a threat to his family...

He was the slowest one to get away and didn't do anything so didn't think he had to run. Mikey soon put that thought out of his head.

A cricket bat I heard. Which would probably be worse as it's quite thick.

He denied any incident to the Independent but has no problem selling his story to the Sun how he was the victim.
But on Friday, he told the British tabloid the Sun: "I had an intruder at my home in the early hours of Saturday morning. We are still very shaken by it. It was terrifying but we are okay -- police are investigating."

I doubt that he did sell his story to the Sun. He was proberly just answering a reporter, thats if he did speak to anyone directly. Has he actually been charged with anything yet?

Was the guy inside the house or at the gate only?

    Did Mikey call the Gardai?

There must be a lot more to the story than them just ringing his door buzzer. No one reacts like that without provocation, whether it was just that night, or the same lads doing this at his door for several nights. They were said to have been shouting abuse to him on the intercom, I guess there is only so much some one can take before you crack.

I wasnt there but i can imagine the scene:

Pissed-up kids decide to take the piss out of Mikey by pressing his buzzer and singing Boyzone songs into the intercom, accompanied by howls of derisive, drunken laughter.
Probably had been going on for a while, where he lives is a small town..maybe he's getting a bit of verbal on the street too.

One night they start their crap.."yo mikey ya bollocks..love me for a resason hahah"..he snaps, grabs a baseball bat, runs down and clocks one of them in a rage...a guy nearly gets killed and Mikey suddenly realises he should've been a bit calmer about the situation.

Its an unfortunate fact that people in the public eye will invite ridicule from others,be they jealous or genuinely resentful but its something a celebrity should know how to deal with instead of behaving like a complete scumbag and braining somebody who hadnt set foot in the house.

I also read that it was linked to an incident when Mikey was punched by someone in a pub. The guy he hit with the cricket bat was not the guy who hit in the pub though.

Mikey thinks of himself as a bit of a hardman..he did a bit of boxing once upon a time and reckons he can mix it a bit.

I always found him the least likable of the lot of them.. At least Duffy acknowledges that he doesnt really have a lot of talent, and recognises Boyzone for what it was... This delusion chap thinks he's a serious singer/songwriter even though he can do neither... He's not even good looking... Still baffled as to why he was picked for the band.. well, I know he was not in the original line up, but how he was ever even in the top 100 candidates is beyond me..

    did he
throw a hissy fit a couple of years back over his entry into eurovision? As i recall his entry was rubbished on mooney show preview. He then tried to say it was mooney shows fault that it did not win. Got short shrift from the bold mooney the following monday. Thank your stars mikey for getting the lucky break that you did . Theres a good lad!

He's after getting himself into an awful lot of trouble. The lad now has problems with his speech?

And Mickey has still not come back to Ireland since the attack.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 16,397 ✭✭✭✭Degsy

From what i've heard it was a bit of a craze to press his intercom buzzer on the way home from the local pub and it had been going on for ages.

The logical thing for him to have done would be to disconect the buzzer or at least ignore the kids messing, they'd soon get sick of not getting a reaction.

Instead he sneaked out of the house and crept along the wall before standing up and swinging the(cricket) bat..the other bloke never had a chance.

The very least mikey can expect now is a long court case and potentially huge legal bill.

He could be looking at a GBH charge

No wonder he's not come back to Ireland as of yet

Yeh, thats mickey trying to cover his butt I'd say

And gone away off out of the country now too - very sus

He's in a lot of trouble.

I kind of feel sympathy for him. Even though he's talentless and plain as a post he was hardly going to turn the opportunity down that presented itself.

He made millions hanging around in the background miming, and fair play to him.

If the reports are true and he was getting punched in the local, and having drunken scangers harass his property all night then it's easy to see why he flipped.

He'll walk too. This is Ireland we're dealing with the rich and the middle class don't go to prison.
He'll get off with a suspended sentence and having to donate to speech rehabilation charities or something.

From the herald 5 days ago
GARDAI have obtained CCTV from Mikey Graham's home -- but it does not show an altercation which led to a student receiving serious injuries.

Gardai investigating the incident in which local man Paul O'Hara (22) received head injuries got the footage from the Boyzone star's home.

It did not show the controversial incident when officers examined it and the Herald has learned that when gardai went back to the pop star's home to seek the relevant footage it was not available.

    TRAUMATISED

This development could hamper the investigation into the high-profile alleged assault which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, April 30.

Local man Mr O'Hara received head injures following an altercation with the 38-year-old pop star last month outside Mr Graham's plush home in Man O'War, Co Dublin.

Mr O' Hara who was too ill to make a formal statement to gardai for weeks after the incident but is understood to have done so now.

And while Mr Graham has spoken informally to gardai on a number of occasions, it is understood that he has yet to make a formal statement.

Sources say that Mr Graham is "still traumatised" over the incident.

The star has told gardai that he did shove Mr O'Hara but has denied hitting him with a cricket bat.

Engineering graduate Mr O'Hara was treated for six days after sustaining head injuries in an incident that occurred outside Mr Graham's home.

He then spent a number of weeks recovering at home.

The singer's doorbell-intercom was buzzed a number of times and he eventually came out. There then appears to have been an altercation near the gates during which Mr O'Hara suffered his head injury.

Mr O'Hara was rushed to hospital by ambulance where medics discovered swelling on his brain.

Mr Graham's wife, Karen Corradi, and the couple's daughter Sienna (5) were in the house at the time of the incident in which friends said Mr Graham feared for his safety.

Mr Graham was interviewed by gardai after the incident and it is understood that he made a complaint about Mr O'Hara's conduct on the night.

    VIDEO

He flew out of Ireland "on business" following the incident at the end of April.

It is understood that Mr Graham told detectives that he never meant to hurt the student.

Gardai have also interviewed two of Mr O'Hara's pals who were present on the night.

After the incident, Mr Graham installed a new video intercom at his home.

DOn't think you can get brain swelling by a shove.

You can if that shove leads to him falling backwards and hitting his head on something hard, a wall possibly or even the floor if he fell backwards.

First thing I would do is check the tapes to see if there was anything on them, if there was I'd wipe it. If nothing was on it, the first thing I would do is hand it over to the Gardai. Unsure if Mikey is that smart though.

If all he did was shove the guy where's the constant references to a cricket bat coming from?

    from the Indo link above:
A reporter called to his home that afternoon to ask him if he knew anything about "an incident" outside his house.

The reporter buzzed the intercom several times. Graham eventually answered over the intercom

Looks like he could be heading for the slammer yet!

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/courts/boyzone-star-mikey-graham-awaits-decision-of-dpp-on-criminal-charges-following-row-2882763.html
BOYZONE star Mikey Graham could face criminal charges following a row outside his mansion last April.

Student Paul O’Hara (22) sustained serious head injuries after an alleged fight broke out at the singer’s front gate.

The Director of Public Prosecutions received a file from Gardai investigating the incident and is now considering whether charges should be brought forward against Mr. Graham (39).

Mr. O’Hara was brought to Beaumont Hospital following the alleged scuffle, where he spent a week recovering. He has since been undergoing speech therapy since being discharged.

The Gardai have outlined in the file what they believe happened that night.

Mr. O’Hara claims that he was struck over the head with a cricket bat following a row over the incessant buzzing of Mr. Graham’s intercom in the late hours of Friday on April 29th.

Mr. Graham denies striking the engineering student in the head but admits a physical confrontation occurred.

Gardai have tried to determine if the injuries sustained by the young man were caused by an implement or by hitting his head on the ground following a fall.

Shortly after the scuffle, Mr. Graham left Ireland for Spain and Britain on business but was interviewed by Gardai when he arrived home and gave a full statement to them in May. He claimed that he was “in fear of his life” when the intercom was repeatedly buzzed.

CCTV cameras were outside the singer’s house in Lusk Co. Dublin but it is understood that they didn’t record the incident.

Mr. Graham was inside his home watching television with his wife Karen Corradi, and two daughters when the intercom started buzzing.

Mr. O’Hara and a group of friends had earlier been in a pub celebrating a friend’s 18th birthday. They then moved onto a take-away which is located close to Mr. Graham’s home.

At 1.30am, the alleged buzzing started with people shouting into the speaker.

After a security light came on, some of the group dispersed but Mr. O’Hara remained.

When his friend’s returned, Mr. O’Hara was discovered lying on the path unconscious. He was then taken to Beaumont Hospital for treatment.

Two weeks previously, Mr. Graham was punched in the face outside a pub near his home but was not injured in the assault. Gardai believe the two incidents may be connected as Mr. Graham was receiving verbal abuse from a group of young men.

Although Mr. O’Hara was not present at that incident, the man believed to have thrown the punch was outside the singer’s gate when the buzzing occurred.

Mr. O’Hara’s mother made a complaint to Gardai following the incident but it is understood that Mr. Graham put in a formal complaint about the behaviour of the men over the intercom buzzing
