So how do you like yours, real or the fake stuff?

I'm a Kerrygold man myself, you can't beat a load of real butter melting on a warm slice of toast,I know a few people who think its disgusting and for the life of me I cant see how it is.Only last week I saw a girl in work using brown sauce instead of butter, now I like brown sauce but not just spread on a slice of toast.

Real for taste obviously, but even in summer that stuff is a bitch to spread and one uses too much so I do use fake a fair bit. :o

+1 for Kerrygold. It's the stuff dreams are made of. And spreads quite easily if you know the right technique.

Yes, okay, butter is nicer, but it's fcuking impossible to spread. Therefore I choose spread. And it's not really that bad. Is it? (*Waits for yes)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm butter, I love it :D

I remember as a young student nurse, looking blankly at my lecturer during a Care of the Elderly Module lecture when she said that many old people suffer from malnutrition due to poverty/unwillingness to go to the effort of making a nutritious meal if they live alone, and often survive with bread and butter being their main meal. It seems I have the diet of an elderly loner then....

Not a fan. A nice bread, not the pan stuff, with just enough toasting to make it crispy. Once in a while I might add some chilli sauce, but I tend to like it as is.

I LOVE real butter. I was just weak for it on caramelized onion bagels but I don't eat bread anymore so I don't enjoy butter like I used to.

Dairygold is made of nasty vegetable oil! You can buy speadable kerrygold in a tub.

Vegetable oil will give you cancer, heart disease, acne and depression. If that's not a good enough reason to avoid it that I don't know what is..

    In the fake option.

How you can "not believe it's not butter" after reading the ingredients is beyond me.

Maybe eating fake stuff leads to memory loss and a lack of basic comprehension ?

I dont bother putting it in the fridge as its too hard to spread if you do and you end up just tearing the bread apart. Btw how long does it last just left out in a butter-jar before it goes off?

I miss Kerrygold soooooooo much. NZ butter tastes really funny - like it's a bit off. You can even taste it in baking. I went to South Africa at Christmas and they had Dubliner's cheese and Kerrygold and I almost wet my pants I was so excited.

Unfortunately, butter is my weakness so I've had to stop eating it for the sake of my waistline :(

I have a terrible habit of melting a little pot of butter (proper butter) and pouring it over popcorn when I'm watching a movie :o It's the best thing ever! I wish they sold it in the cinema.

If you want to store it in the fridge then just put a little chunk of it on a plate and into the microwave for literally 3-4 seconds and it spreads beautifully :)

Eating butter makes them seem healthy - how exactly? It's pure fat

Real butter all the way for me. Can't eat the other muck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Sometimes i use it as shampoo

Lots of things will give you those things.

Must call the Daily Mail and have them add vegetable oil to their "Things that give you cancer" list.

I use veg oil and have throughout my life. I have never had acne.
