    Hey all,

Hoping to start restoring/tidying up my anglers fancy. Unfortunately its been lying docked at the lake for 2 years now. been sunk a few times and is coated in green alge and crap.

the boat is a 2007 model so the hull is spot on minus a few dings and scrapes here and there.

My plan is basic, bring it home and clean it. :) then repaint the wood that is if its not completely rotten at this stage. :)

    My questions to ya'll are:

1: how to clean off that green alge stuff?

2: can i paint over the gel coat on the exterior and interior so that she looks super clean and sexy ;).?

3: if the wood is rotten is there anyone in the midlands that specialises in putting new wood on it.

4: Whats the maximum size engine a standard burke boat can take.?

Lads and ladies i appreciate ya taking the time to read this and ANY input or knowledge would be hugely appreciated and very helpful.

    Cheers Folks,
    Davy :)

    Hi davyd,
1: wet it first and leave it to soak in then powerwash.

2: You can paint over gel coat just give it a rub with sandpaper first then primer then paint. Have a go at buffing it first with rubbing compound you will be surprised at how well it can come back and it will look better than paint.

3:I am sure you will be able to do this yourself if not ask a local carpenter to help out there are a good few about looking for a bit of work.

    4: 6HP - 10HP recommended, but I have seen them with a 15hp .
