Hey folks undertaking a mild detox and looking for some of the better products out there but that are reasonably priced (I'm a postgrad with no current income!)

    What I'm after;

fibre supplement - possibly psyllium husks
probiotics - what's the best source? I've heard that you need specially formulated tablets that can survive somewhat beyond the stomach to deliver the bacteria to the gut?
concentrated oil of oregano - to work against yeast, pill or oil
milk thistle to support the liver

also can anyone recommend a good natural laxative supplement? just in case...

does anyone know which, if any, of the jug filtration systems for water remove most of the harmful heavy metals and other contaminates?

and where might one get coconut oil?

    Thanks all

    Iherb.com

By far the cheapest site ever, shipping takes between 3-8 days to Ireland.

Best laxative is a natural one (on iherb) smooth move tea. follow the directions properly and look out!

Agreed. I placed an order for Carlsons fish oils with them last month. Delivery took about a week and it cost about 19 euro total for what would cost 34 sterling plus shipping from Amazon.co.uk.

If you like you can use my code which will get you $5 off your first order.... it's ROR319

Any customs issues getting iherb stuff?

I had none and a few friends had none. I do remember reading about someone that was charged when they placed an order somewhere around $500 (it may have been Transform).....

As far as I know, you should be fine if you keep the order under €150

Also, if your order is under $80 and 3lbs, the postage to Ireland is only $4 - so it'd probably be a good idea to stick to sub-$80 orders.

I got charged extra from customs for a much smaller order. But I agree, iHerb is good.

However, you can get a good big bag of psyllium husks in Down to Earth in Georges Street for €2. It will keep you regular, promise! They also have a jar of coconot oil for about a fiver, with a name that begins with B, and it's the nicest I've ever tasted.

Milk Thistle and Oregano should be easy enough to get.

Did you? Thanks for letting me know anyway as I'd always assumed that under 150 euro would be fine.

I suppose that's all the more reason to keep the orders under $80 and 3lbs where feasible - even if it means multiple orders over a few days. At least if ones stopped, charges will be minimal.

The $4 delivery takes a week or so and the more expensive option is supposedly faster. I think I'll order using the cheaper delivery, lower valued orders from now on. All I've ordered so far from them is Carlsons Fish Oil but I do plan to order some Scivation Xtend when my current supplements run out and I start mixing my own. This will be mixed with Protein, Dextrose and Creatine - but my current supplements will last me a few months yet.

when I was searching for experiences of iHerb and customs charges, it seemed like the regular airmail delivery is less likely to incur charges. The courier/fast options are more likely to attract customs attention for some reason. Anyway I only ordered from them once so I can't say much from experience. I didn't get charged any extra anyway.

agreed on iherb and stick with delivery using DHL (NOT UPC as seem to get hit every time with them) and under €150 and its fine though not guaranteed.

I've used iherb many times, always ordered through standard airmail and here is what I've learned.

If you keep your order under 28 euro, you are guaranteed not to be charged vat or duty, once you go over 28 euro, you may get import vat charged by the postman(if your package is inspected by customs), once over 150 euro you get duty also.
Shipping is generally 7 or 8 days.

My discount code is FIT211, $5 off your first order.

I've ordered 3 times from Iherb using airmail for $45, $70 and $50. Never got charged.
