Ex-IP member here.Anybody know what are the best alternatives with IP closed? Ironside seems to be the best option for a similar set up but it's on the wrong side of the city!Looking for somewhere on the Northside.Sorry if this has been posted already if you can link me up??

    There is no alternative.

If you're looking for a non-commercial gym on the northside:
    -Hercs
    -Universal Warrior (beside IP)
-Performance Therapy Ireland (think that's the name - new CF gym in Malahide)
    -Unique Physique
    -The Regency Hotel Gym

Aaaaaand that's about all I can think of.

Thanks for the info. Work around Finglas is that gym in the regency any use? Do they have racks, chalk & bands etc ?
I'd say there is no other gym on the northside with a prowler!

Chalk? Bands? Are you kidding me?

They've DBs to 50kg, racks and plenty of weight.

You can use chalk and they have bands in Hercs, but you'd be hard pushed to do anything similar to an IP session in there it's so tight. And if you can't get in before 7pm, forget about it cos you won't be able to deadlift and all your work will have to be done upstairs.

if you are into the weights - image in swords is a good place to train and cheap as chips.

there is a good attitude there and a lot of committed people - only drawback (for me) is most (but not all) of them are bodybuilders (or wannabes) so the focus is more on that than sport performance but if you know what you want the free weights are there to be used and abused.

Ha didn't think they would. Been a while since I have been in a regular gym. I'm guessing no kettlebells either so. I'll check out the listed.

Hercs has KBs. Just not a ton of room to use them in!

I'm in Ballymun Leisure Centre. 50 a month, and there's enough space to set up for a C1 or C2. Only problem is that lads up here take 3 sets of DBs for each workout, and some of them aren't willing to part with them, even though you're on the next bench. "Working-in" is unheard of up here, but I'm introducing it slowly!
