How long will inactive muscle remain the same?

Basically I'm coming home from university in a while and I'm not sure if I'll be able to go to the gym down here often. Also I've exams coming up and again that means time constraints.

How long could you reasonably expect muscles to retain their mass without working out? As in, how long can I go without a workout, without losing strength? I'd continue with the same protein-saturated diet.

    Cheers.

    About six weeks i reckon.

Difficult to say but in the case of bench=pressing you'll be losing strength after a fortnight, after three or four weeks you'll have noticed a fairly big drop-off in strength.

According to something I read recently, can't remember if it was here or Mens Fitness or Mens Health...

They mentioned upto 8 weeks as a timeframe...

But even then... you said you are just going home right?

What's stopping you from exercising there?
