Hey... I have been looking into the above for a while, and looking to see if anyone has any experience on getting their lip lasered?

I am not particularly that dark or hairy, but it really does bother me and am sick of getting it waxed, which is every 2 weeks at this stage!!

I guess Im curious to know if it has been a success for people, and is it true that you can bleach or wax during sessions?

if your not dark then i dont think the laser would work! there was a piece on xpose about ultrasound hair removal-blonde hairs/fuzz. Not too sure on details but look into that type, plenty of clinics around doing it!

    Hi,
I got my top lip lasered, you really have to be committed to the full course of 4-6 sessions at regular intervals.

I was told I couldn't wax or bleach the hair as the root needed to be intact and there needs to be pigment in the hair for the laser to work (which is why they say you it doesn't really work on very fair hair). You are allowed to shave if you really can't stand having anything there!

I am much happier now that I've had it done as I felt that I was turning into my Dad! However I will say I'm not totally hair free. They do say it is significantly reduced but not permanently removed, but I'm not constantly checking the mirror anymore :-)

I got one and I didn't find it worked too well. Even though I heard amazing things about it beforehand. It doesn't seem to pull my hairs out from the root, rather they just break off. Maybe I'm just using it wrongly.

:mad:I had it done on my legs around 2 yrs ago, at the time it was expensive but I defo thought it was worth it. The darker the hair the better as the lazer is attracted to the pigment. It does have to be repeated after 8-9 months.
Im considering doing the lip next as well age is not helping with it

Hey thanks for your reply. If I thought it would work I would certainly be committed to the sessions. I honestly don't know if Im dark or not, I get like an 'evening shadow' when I haven't waxed in a few weeks. Can I ask ,did you shave during sessions?

Are they an epilator style thing?

    Hi

I did shave a couple of times (not like every day though ;)) because I could see hairs even though others told me they couldn't. I have to admit I was too worried that I would end up cutting myself and ending up drawing more attention to myself!

As I say it hasn't completley disappeared but I am so much happier now. I go in for 'review' sessions every few months where occasionally they will zap one or two hairs for me but that is all I need. I don't even look for hair any more (and trust me I was constantly checking before).

One thing I would say - I went to two different places for the treatment. The first place I hated as it was more of an 'add on' to their business rather than what they do and I didn't feel like they particularly knew what they were doing. The second place I went to it is one of the main areas of their business so I feel much more comfortable with them. Also they have a laser unit that will blow cold air at you as you get the 'shots' and I find this much less painful and I do not go as red / blotchy after it.

    Hope some of this helps!

    Taz

I've had laser on other body parts and while it hasn't completely 100% removed all hair, it's made about a 90% reduction. If you have dark hair and pale skin I would definitely recommend it. If you sign up to all the pages that offer daily deals you should be able to get a full course for about 100 euro, well worth it in my opinion. I didn't have any side effects.
