Barcelona aren't as good as Real Madrid. Real Madrid have 9 European Cups while Barcelona only have 3, they didn't even get their first one until the early 90s the "Cruyff dream team". Plus Real Madrid have 31 leagues, while Barcelona only have 20, massive difference.

I think Barcelona will try to chase Real but in the end they won't get close, Madrid's history is way too glorious. Real Madrid got awarded "Club Of The Century" by FIFA and I don't think you will find many people that will disagree.

Benzema first touch is pretty poor - Madrid on top here.

ROFL - Madrid sending notes on to the field and been passed about between the players.

What in the name of god was that all about?

    2 - 1

Real look like they've just given up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Madrid upping it now - should come back from this.

All 3 subs used by 59min - Ozil, Di Maria and Marcelo.

Attendance looks woeful for that game.

Real Madrid are about to lose me €930.

Grrrrrr. Only team left in my accumulator!

Mourinho almost certainly out now I'd say.

Despite everything that went on during the week, Di Maria is the worst player I've seen for rolling around the ground screaming.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

    Real can still get 4...

But irrespective of whether they do, another red card, it's a pretty pathetic performance

That's the league wrapped up, Barcelona will probably lose too.

Mourinho almost certainly out now I'd say.

The amount of people in Spain that have spoken out against his comments this week is really telling. The head of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Government ministers, former Real Madrid president and players, other la liga coaches as well as other prominent figures within Spain from the world of sport and elsewhwere. Sure was a report in the paper this morning saying some Madrid players had spoken up at their discontent with him during the week and speculation Ronaldo was dropped because of his comments after the match. Florentino cant be liking this at all - the consensus is that his antics are reflecting poorly on the club and accusations that he has taken control from Florentino. It has been constant whinging, conspiracies all season long and it is now coming to a head. Reckon UEFA will throw the book at him. I dont fancy his chances of being coach come next season unless perhaps he knocks Barça out on tuesday.

Then Pep would deserve a kick in the balls (and probably all of the barca team):D.

We'll have to wait and see - was talk that him and his dad were looking for a move because of lack of first team action.

In fairness he was injured for a chunk of the season - just after he scored in the manita I think.

Dirt challenge from Tamudo - aint exactly the most popular man in Catalunya.

Lol Alves didn't get much of a rest.

No future at the club with the likes of Afellay doing well.

He came on the other night against Madrid and had an instant impact. He probably won't be anything more than a rotation player, but he has a cleverness and determination that I haven't seen in Jeffren.

I'm saying Real Madrid are better than Barcelona, period, all time. Go into the Bernabeu trophy room and have a look for yourself. While Barca didn't even have their 1st European Cup Real Madrid had such majestic players as Di Stefano, Puskas, Hugo Sanchez.

Madrid are the most glorious side, don't say their superiority is a result of Franco, or that Barcelona aren't good enough because they were oppressed because that is not the case.

What ever about the simulation and cynicism. The use of laser pointers on free kick takers needs to be stamped out or prevented!:(

It's obviously only UEFA that support Barca not the Spanish Officials:rolleyes:
    Milito was onside.

Ooooh Pinto got a hand to that. What was he doing though?

Regardless of Madrid getting beat earlier this evening that was a poor result.

Team seemed to lose concentration in the last half hour and really gifted Sociedad victory.

That said, fair play to Sociedad for taking advantage.

Too many teams have failed to capitalise on the team going to sleep this season in my opinion.

Yeah barca have themselves to blame for that, they took their foot off the pedal. Very well played by Sociedad though. Milito's goal shouldn't have been disallowed. That said, Barca lost, no signs of extreme of simulation, feigning injury. (Just felt that was necessary to point out.;) ) I know they have pretty much the league wrapped up, but it was pretty clear the second half wasn't going their way. Especially with the urgency and almost panic they played with in those last 10 or more minutes.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

Pleased for Sociedad, but the tempo and concentration of Barcelona's play a fair bit and especially recently this season has been poor for me. Not incisive at all.

Barca in the previous two seasons under Pep had a reputation of not letting teams out of their vice grip and winning 4-0 instead of 2-0. It's the exact opposite this season and any sort of one goal lead is held onto. Levante, Getafe, Arsenal, Madrid, Sociedad, Bilbao...where is it gone.
