Argos belt for squatting and deadlifting?

I have been training for a good few years but have never used a belt. Was thinking of getting one and hopefully improving my squat and deadlift 1 rep maxes. I think a belt might help with plateaus and sticking points.

I'm aware that there are PL belts available from the likes of pullum sports but as a "belt novice" I'd prefer to try something cheaper like the below one. If I find I don't like it, it's not too expensive

BTW I am 5 foot 9.5 with 30 inch waist, weigh 79 kg and I squat full depth with a narrow stance and a high bar position. Could a thick, wide PL belt cause problems and discomfort? Maybe I'm better off with a cheap belt (for now at least)

Or you can bring it back, argos will give cashback for 30 days. But the belt holes might be obviously worn and so not in a resellable condition.

Hey I've tried that belt and its poo IMHO for squats and deads. You see it tapered at the front. I find for squats and the like I push my abs into the belt to increase the pressure in my mid section and keep me solid. To do this you want the same size on both the front of belt and back.

I picked up this in argos a while back for 19.99. Can't find out on site now tho

Using a wider stance and not going full depth would help you increase your 1rm.
I am guessing you know that already, but why not do it if your target is hitting the highest number you can.

My 1 RM is actually worse using a min legal depth, wider stance, low bar squat. Now maybe i need to train this variation more or maybe my form is bad. I train at home and have nobody to give me any tips.
