Im bringing my kid to see Thor over the week end and i have some concerns. The last religious movie i was at was that one by Mel Gibson and it sounded similar to Thor. A God gets sent to Earth by his father where he helps man kind. The end is inspired by X-men where the hero gets (seemingly) killed but he has regenerative powers a little like Wolverine but not as good as it takes him 3 day to heal. All very promising but it was extremely violent and down beat in tone. Not at all the sort of movie for children.
    is Thor like this ?

    Eh... that was Superman.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I certainly wouldn't call the film "religious" per se.
I think thats a far, far stretch of the imagination.

Probably no more suitable than "Kick-Ass"

Thor is about as religious as Spider-Man, hes a comic character based on Norse mythology.

Although remember the scene in The Passion where you see a close up of a big hammer wailing nails into Jesus's hands? that was Thor.

Looks grand. Bonus points for recognising Thor as Kim from Home & Away.

Is this going to be one of those films that starts with a scene from hundreds of years ago then promptly cuts to rock music and a scene with a fella driving through LA recklessly screaming YAAAAHOOO with cops chasing him?

    I fuc*ing hate hollywood.

Thor is an over-rated crock of steaming sh!te, and not suitable for discerning adults, let alone kids!!

beating a man half to death in a bloody mess is okay as long as it represents religion god dammit!

    It's called double standards.

why? because the vocal majority have adopted a forgien religion in the christo judeao gods rather than the norse/germanic gods of their anscestors?

I've not seen it, but from what I'm told it is fairly kid-accessible, a good old-fashioned good vs evil type film.

No, I would say because its a film based around a fantasy theme!
If anyone is seeing disturbing religious aspects and attacks on their faith, they might need to answer the question "what the hell were they expecting when they paid their money and are they that stupidly clueless as to what this film is all about!"
...And if they had even a modicum of kop-on as to whats its about - why on gods name are they still paying to see it and be offended!

Talk about a stupid storm in a bloody tea-cup!

The bit where Danny Glover had a bomb in his toilet was fairly shocking alright. And he only had one day til retirement!

Entirely true. Some small children might find the frost giants scary, but its fairly clean stuff. I would have gone for a "pg" over "12a" meself.
