If you could change ONE thing and ONE thing only about something that happened in your past, big or small, what would it be?

Giving up the **** in 2003 for a month, achieved nothing only a couple of unexpected changes of bedsheets due to an excess build up in me 'bag' :p

Tell you what tho, first 'pedal' I had back after the month was over, could have killed a small animal with the velocity it came out :pac:

    I don't know....
As much as things might not have gone the way I wanted them to go, I wouldn't change anything. Life is too short for regrets.
(God I'm cheesy as hell) :D

At the risk of bringing out the h8ers, it would have to be that I didn't take my gender issues more seriously when I was younger. So much lost living... :(

Making up for it now, though! :D

    Hot pepper suppository.

It sounded fun at the time.

I would have had more confidence - in myself, others and that things could work out. Limiting yourself by thinking you can't causes regret.

In 1986 I would hang on tight and not and not be such a coward and jump. In 1990 I would run as fast as I could rather than being brave and staying put. Yes, the two biggest regrets of my life are the polar opposites of each other. Moral of the story: life teaches you lessons that could end up ruining your life.

Wish I hadn't gone straight to college after school.
I had only just turned 17 when I was making all these big decisions about courses and subjects. Should have taken a year or two to get some space and think more broadly about it all. Would probably have ended up making better choices; or maybe not. Oh well.

Was over in London for a summer during college.
There were a load of us working in a University over there.
Anyways there was this one girl I really fancied - she was beautiful.
Most of the guys tried it on with her at one stage or another but got nowhere. I was probably too shy.
But, we did get to know each other well over the weeks and I kinda felt she might have been falling for my charms (such as they were). I really though I had a chance with this goddess.
Then one night I got really drunk and ended up with her best friend (who was nowhere near as good looking - damn you alcohol, damn you!) - she walked into her room the next morning and saw me hungover in bed with her friend.

That was the end of that

To get a brace. In about 1988 I had the chance but decided my teeth were OK, which they were by Irish standards at the time! now the bar has been raised. Everybody has beautiful teeth and I look like the Queen Mother. But, what ho, I could still get a brace myself I guess but I'd have to pay for it.

    smart hole.

Your English isn't really sufficient, you had a mistake two words into an eight word sentence :p

I wish I had told my ex to F off and packed my stuff the night I wanted to, would've saved myself 6 months of grief, which isn't long but it was 6 months of torturous living and travelling with him that I could've avoided.

Ah only have 2 regrets tbh, one. being 18, being told by family your moving to a worse area than the nice one you grew up in and were happy and not just going out and getting a job asap and staying in the same area then.

two. not giving the person who lied to my face, pretends to be all nice and up in the air about everything when its really the most cunning, sneaky, untrustworthy, nasty little s*** waste of space and everything ive ever had the displeasure of knowing, which i hope gets its commuponce (spelt wrong prob) as soon as possable, a very big punch to the face, pint over head, glass in face and a kick to the floor!
Never in my whole life have i regretted something so much as that, or been so angry at anyone before that person!

Can I be an asshole and just tell you why he made the smart comment?
It should have been HAVE instead of of. Should HAVE paid more attention in maths class. And also paid instead of payed. So two mistakes in the first three words of your sentence. :o Morto for ya! :D

Not scoring the sexiest girl ever when I had the chance. JaneB. Oh to go back and do the opportunity justice, with a bit more self belief, I would have acted on what she told me subsequently she was well into.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,571 ✭✭✭Aoifey!

    1. Doing the "better" course just because my mother expected me too. I knew I wanted to try it out first instead of just jumping straight in, so why didn't I do what I knew was right?!

    2. Last Saturday night. Stupid decision. Messed everything up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 636 ✭✭✭cute_cow

I wouldn't have settled down so young. I was 22 when I became invloved in the relationship, and lost my 20's to "couple stuff". I suppose relasitically I cud have changed that, but looking back now, thats my main regret.
Don't get me wrong, I love him to bits and always will, but sorry we couldn't have left it a few more years too meet :D
    Damn fate!!!

Told a secret to people I shouldn't have drunkenly last summer...ruined a possible "relationship" because of it. Such is life.
