POST WORKOUT & dextrose sugar

Just wondering what kind of things people are putting into there shakes after training. At the moment all ive been taking is whey protein but ive been using Jack3d pre-workout and find by the time im finished training and im on my way home im completely wrecked. Is this just a crash from the Jack?

From reading up online what i understand is my glycogen levels are depleted after heavy sessions of lifting and carbs are needed to restore these levels and give energy. Ive seen that people put dextrose sugar into there shakes along with whey to get a quick intake of carbs PWO but i try to cut all sugar out of my diet so would this defeat the purpose and end up making me put on weight if im taking it every day i train(usually 4 or 5 days a week!)?

Is there anything else i can take instead that will do the same thing as i always thought the more i train the more energy id have but im literally exhausted everyday after training especially if i train in the evening!

    Any feedback would be great!

    So when do you crash?

If your eating zero carbs and crashing. Your crashing cos your eating zero carbs.

    Weight? Fat or Muscle?

You wont get fat from dextrose in your PWO shake.

Fat is all id be worried about! Any extra muscle would be great ha! Will the insulin spike everyday caused by the sudden intake of dextrose sugar not upset my diet though as i try cut out as much of, if not all sugar from what i eat?

The only time glucose is a good thing is PWO. You will not put on weight from that at all, the recommended amount is twice the protein amount I think, I use 1 scoop of glucose per scoop of whey.

PWO I usually put 2 scoops of whey into about 600ml of water along with 5g of creatine how big are the scoops of glucose as this shake barely mixes as it is!? I usually have to drink some and then add more water to mix it again!

Think the scoops are around 20ml, I use 2 scoops, 5g creatine and 1 scoop glucose. in around 400 to 600 ml of water, seems to mix fine to me.

Just bought a new flavour banana/strawberry, wtf was I thinking lol. Still I'll manage to down that the same way i managed the mint chock...with a groan : )

PS it's not a bad thing to crash, as long as you get a good hour's lifting in beforehand. Any more than that and you'd usually be wasting your time anyway. I usually down an espresso and hit the weights. Oh and I drink anywhere from 2 to 4 litres of water while I'm there.
