Anyone know a good retailer I can buy from or can I only get it online? Thanks.

    I get mine from myprotein.

I get unflavoured, it's not particularly appetising but it's cheap.

Do you guys know anything about the Maximuscle stuff from argos? It would be a lot more convenient for me that buying online but if anyone thinks that the stuff from myprotein is better i'll go for that instead, thanks.

Yes I do. It's overpriced, over-advertised/marketed stuff. Also doesen't taste very nice. There are much better brands out there. I'd avoid it if I were you.

I have used 3 types of whey protein, Maximuscle promax, then hollands and barretts whey protein which was cheaper and the myprotein which was even cheaper again!

For the most part I would say they are the same, well expect for price

2.4kg of maximuscle promax is 104.79 from argos at the moment

and 5kg of impact whey protein from myprotein is 66.94 delivered to your door! But don't forget to order a plastic scoop for another 0.69. So that would make total cost 67.63

Just a bit of a saving to be made!

Yeah its great stuff. Gets hit on as it has a higher price tag. But I've always found it great. The mint choc is particularly nice. 3+1 free on maximuscle.ie at the min.

Also ON Gold Standard is one of the best tasting whey shakes out there! Check out discountsupplements.ie for good pricing.

maximuscle is excellent supplements once used correctly as instructed. I have recently changed to usn pure protein and i have to say its the best protein i have ever been on and its really nice, not your usual rubbish tasting protein.
I get all my supplements on discountsupplements.ie 2.28kg of usn pure whey is only 44.99

I love the way you use the word "only" here as if to imply that it's cheap, when really thats the average price of a 2-2.5kg tub of whey.
In my opinion if you want to find a good, suitable protein, for a good price, check out http://www.universalnutrition.ie/listproducts/1/-1
At the moment I'm taking "sports lab massive whey" costing 32e for a 5lb tub. In my opinion it is very good. It is a whey isolate blend and is a complete source of protein. It is also very cheap and tastes quite nice :D

Heres the easiest way to do it, work out how much youre going to be paying per gram of protein.

I was having a look on UN last night for a change in protein and started working out the figures based on a 5lb tub and the price displayed on the site.

Ultimate Nutrition ISO 93: 2.66cent per gram
ONs Gold Standard: 2.60cent per gram
IDS Multi Pro: 2.80cent per gram
    PHD Pharma: 2.50cent per gram
Reflex Instant Whey: 2.42cent per gram
Reflex Mirco Whey: 2.53cent per gram
Kinetica Sports Whey: 2.49cent per gram

If you compare that to maximuscle promax extreme:

    5.88cent per gram

    *cough* RIPP OFF *cough*

If your going to do a like for like at least use the same product type! :p

Promax extreme is not just whey protein...it has 5g creatine and 5g glutamine!! Also a range of other small added extra. Hence the price tag...

Okay fair enough, how about a similar product then :)

    PHD Synergy-ISO-7 2.25cent per gram

Maximuscle is a ripp off imo.

Ha ok ok, but you can hardly justify the crazy high price (€45 for 2lbs) for just added creatine and glutamine etc. Its a way overpriced.

Not a whey protein, but a protein blend.

75e plus 7euro shipping, but still cheaper then most places. Also offer only in Vanilla.

I personally wouldnt buy it as its muck.
Look at the size of the scoop (44grm) compared to the quanity of protein (22grm), and the amount of fat (6grm) and carbs (13grm).

Its 50% protein per 5lb tub, ONs is 79% protein, and Ultimate Nutrition ISO93 is 93% protein.
