Nvidia GT 555M 3 Gig?

When looking at Dell laptops today, I saw an option for a 3 Gig GT 555M graphics card. This doesn't seem right to me, as the Alienware Desktop Graphics options were 2 Gig at most. Is it a marketing trick?

Sounds like a Shared memory spec, not dedicated memory. Unless it happened to be two of them in SLi, I think a single has 1.5GB in some configs.
