there are alot of games that would be worth too much to use in this offer, but some that make this a decent deal, and might even be able to buy cheap in the new CEX on liffey street and trade in straight away.

Thanks OP. Traded in 3 games for the latest SOCOM. I was short an old game to trade so got "Terminator: Salvation" for a fiver 2nd hand in xtravision. 2nd hand selection in Smyths was very poor value (e.g. €19.99 for Little big planet).

Here are the PS3 games that I noted were in the deal:

Portal 2. Tiger Woods 12. SOCOM: Special Forces. CRYSIS 2. Operation Flashpoint: Red River.

you can mix the formats but can't trade the same game twice,example terminator on PS3 and Xbox 360,good deal if you have any of the games on the list,and most of us on here do. It would also be advisable to only get one of each game from any single store as they state no multiples,easy enough to say very difficult to do,believe me.

Gamestop are useless,they offered me €12 for a xbox 360 20 gig pro system!!
Went into Game in mahon point and they gave €70 against a brand new xbox 360 250 gig which was €180-€70 =€110 there last week.
Reason for change was xbox was 4 years old and bought kinect at xmas and didnt want to take the chance on the old unit failing.

I can't disagree strongly enough with that! Thanks to bargain alerts I've participated in a good few of their offers and was definitely the one walking away with the deal. I've had: several new releases, a PS3 itself and a "move" kit all very cheap by trading in a load of old games which were in their trade-in list. NDS games for €15 a pop cos they were worth €30 in the gamestop tradein. against this I have heard anecdotes about the trade-in list changing without much warning and people getting burned - but I've no personal experience of this.

UNBELIEVABLE! Thats the worst Gamestop trade in price ive heard yet. .

Enjoy the new system though. Pitty I purchased a 250 gig super elite just a while before they introduced the new slim models, but hey what can you do, mainly you can never tell when companies bring out new systems.

same here, although I did get €120 trade in (instead of €70) on an unboxed wii as part of the particular special offer

Its better than the last offer, but they probably took your unboxed wii and advertised it again as new and maybe sold it at full retail price. Did they give you cash of trade credit?

I traded in the tincase version a few days ago and it worked. Don't think they care about the booklet

Seen a sign in Gamestop advertising this deal with LA Noire advertised for €3. Considering that's not out until next month, then you might be able to do so.

I got MK out of the deal. Hate it though, was on a nostalgia buzz but...definite mistake. Don't get me wrong it's decent but I just hate beat em ups, and MK Trilogy on the PSX was the one game in the entire genre I used to play religiously...

Mortal Kombat, both formats, is worth €45 in Smyths till tomorrow (Thursday) week if anyone is looking for reimbursement (like me!).

I picked it up in this deal but won't be hanging on to it for long so this is the handiest way to get value back IMO

Sorry sweetie, store credit (gift voucher basically). Does mean you could have €45 towards an upcoming release (L.A Noire maybe) and if you've a loyalty card there's 10% (€5 normally) off a new release so happy days! Cash value is still somethin like €35 though.

Yeah pretty handy Terror, I was delighted when I saw them start it up. Not all new releases though I should point out, only certain titles!

thanks niallon. got shut of oblivion goty far cry 2 tin box without manual and disc was a bit scratched and call of duty 3 without manual and promo copy written all over it plus a fiver for portal 2. the extra 2 quid was because of no manuals.

Thanks again to the OP for this. I'm probably preaching to the converted here, but if you really want to avail of this BA consider "trading up" (down!) any "good" games you have for cheaper ones. So, for example, I traded Mario Galaxy 2 for €25 in xtravision, bought 3 games on "the list" for €30 and then marched to Gamestop with them to get Portal 2 for €3. Good deal - essentially got a new game for an old (but popular) game + €8. The cheapest game on the list that I've seen so far is "Terminator Salvation" - it was €5 in xtravision but it's rare as I've scoured a good few xtravisions down here in Waterford and it was only in one of them.

Lastly, I couldn't believe that gamestop gave me €18 on a trade in for "Mario Superstars" which was bought over xmas for €25 - the kids hated it.

Big ups to the OP, I've been hoarding games for a long time, and finally decided to dump em.

I got Mortal Kombat, Portal, Halo Reach, Enslaved and some other game that I've already forgotten for nothing (traded in a few other **** games not on the list)

hmmm, i have Splinter Cell Conviction (never quite finished it), Fallout 3 (played through once for about 70 hours, no desire to play again) and COD4, CODWAW that i picked up a year ago for about a 5er each.

Being a bit skint for dosh at the mo, 3 of those could get me LA Noire for 3 euro. Sweet!

I would imagine this game will be in high demand, plenty of pre-orders etc, so it might be sold out when i go wandering in with my 3 trade in games.

I called into them with 3 applicable games and asked about LA noire.

I paid €3 for a preorder and they told me to call back on the 20th with the 3 games and they'd give it to me. I asked them to check the games to make sure everything was ok and I was told it'd be grand.

Sweet,will defo be getting L.A. Noire using this deal. Would use it for Brink but it got **** reviews which is a bit upsetting.

No, you could get some games released in the past few weeks too I guess (stuff like Portal and Mortal Kombat). The ones I posted were just the big new releases (on console) that are coming out before the offer closes

As long as it is another new game covered in the €3 offer you shouldn't have any problem, you wont get a refund or credit for the game and if you do have a problem take it to Smyths and trade it for €45 credit.

Didn't have a problem at all, and because brink was 3 euro dearer, I got 3 euro back for some reason.
