Have been using kettlebells for the last few months now and really enjoying it. Changed up my routine there this week and its a lot more intense and sweaty than the last one.

I had some rough skin from using the bells for the last while but last night some of the skin on my hand came away where I lift the bell (sweaty hands even after wiping them lots!) and is now a lovely piece of flapping skin eerruugghh!

I presume I can get myself some gloves and carry on as usual until skin heals? Any recommendations for ladies gloves - Pink not necessary but would be nice ;)

A combination of filing your callouses, using plenty of chalk and use a handguard until your hand has healed. When i did a lot of that kind of thing I found the following cheap and helpful.

If you want to try gloves, cycling gloves may help.

Cycleways in Parnell St or Cyclogical on the north quays (just across from the hapenny bridge) would sell them. might be worth trying.

Alternatively you could buy a ball of chalk in any of the outdoor stores. I know that store "Great Outdoors" in Chatham St sell them.

This is good advice. You want to try and prevent it, and the best way to do that is to use chalk (so the KB doesn't move about too much and pinch your skin) and keep your callouses tidy (to stop the weak skin ripping where the tough skin meets it).

On the point of gloves - get the thinnest ones you can find that offer protection. It'll make it easier to hold onto the KB. So to that end, cycling gloves may be a good shout.

Argos have half decent looking ladies gloves in their catalogue despite being rip off artists......They appealed to the camp side of my personality anyway :D

You should also have a look at my thread dealing with similar issues here.

I'm just after ordering a couple of bottles of MP Liquid Chalk.

I also ordered a couple of tubs of peanut butter and a 5kg bag of Instant Oats - the delivery charge is a flat 4.95 so I added these into the order.

If ordering from My Protein, feel free to use the discount code MP289427 which will give you 5% off your first order.
