Celtic manager Neil Lennon his QC Paul Mc Bride and member of the Scottish Parliament Trish Godman have all been sent viable mail bombs. This has nothing to do with Football anymore this is just pure bigotry! Other prominent Celtic fans are also subject to being targeted and are being advised on their safety including the head of FARE Football Against Racism in Europe who shopped the rangers fans to uefa for their anti Catholic singing

Perhaps Irish supporters should refrain from booing rangers players when they arrive in lansdowne before they start criticising anyone else for being bigoted.

We boo them because they are technically limited cloggers who only serve to enrage as they drag football back into a mid 80's morass of kick and rush.

And the fact that they are Protestants.

Has that been suggested as some sort of retaliation?

After all, there are no cloggers playing for our team. Paul McShane and Kevin Kilbane are superstars. Aren;t they?

When are we going to start booing Glenn Whelan

    True.

No doubt in sectarian/racist Scotland he will have brought this on himself. Never remember Lennon getting booed in all his time in England. They blamed it on the type of player he was in Scotland yet Keane and McGeady recieved the same treatment?

Lennon has had his car rammed of the road, been sent live bullets in the post, assaulted in the street and this is not the first bomb threat to him.

    Horrible feckers.

    Booing isn't bigoted.

Booing a player simply because they play for glasgow rangers is.

Sending a bomb in the post isnt bigoted.

Sedning it because the recipient simply manages glasgow celtic is bigoted.

Its cringeworthy and to make it even more cringeworthy they made a website stating its ok to boo.

I fcuking hate that attitude. I boo Rangers players because I believe they represent a sectarian club. I dont care if they're Catholic, Protestant, Muslim or into that mad Tom Cruise religion thing. By booing a player simply because of his religion makes you as bad as those who for years have persecuted Irish immigrants abroad

They are trying to kill Neil Lennon because he is an Irish Catholic who manages Celtic, loads of players get booed all across the world because of who they play for but they are not being booed because of religion.

Why boo the player when it's the clubs ethos that you have a problem with?

The player most likely has done nothing wrong and you choose to make them the butt of unnecessary abuse.

    All footballers get booed.

If you want to pretend that Rangers fans getting booed in Ireland has nothing to do with bigotry then fair enough.

True I remember the outrage by some celtic fans when Thompson got booed by a section of England fans.

Because I believe that by playing for that club, that they are a representitive of the club.

I have to admit though, that while it is something I have done previously, I dont know if I would again. Having heard Graeme Souness talk about trying to make progress on the sectarian issues while in charge of Rangers, and discussed these issue in the soccer forum with knowledgable and progressive thinking Rangers fans such as 'Eirebear' its something that Im still in two minds as to whether or not what I did was right.

Hearing people say things though like ''I boo him because he's Protestant'' is to me though an excellent reason for me to stop, as I never want to be associated or classed in the same category as people with such a disguisting secterian attitude

    HAH! You think?

Neil Lennon has some "history" for loyalists because he stopped playing for Northern Ireland because of death threats.
In the logic of some,he shouldn't have made such an issue of it and carried on playing.

How empty does you life have to be before you send someone associated with a ****ing sports team a mail-bomb?

Does his association with one particular crowd of grown men playing a ****ing game really drive you into a murderous rage?

Are you trying to go down the route that Neil Lennon provoked this attack? What about the MSP Trish Godman who got targeted for wearing a Celtic top.

So you're saying that booing a player is comparable to sending a nail bomb to somebody ?
Weird logic by any stretch of the imagination.

I'd boo Rangers 'cause the're are a ****e team, nothing to do with religion.

Same as I'd boo Celtic for being ****e.

No its not. The Celtic/Rangers issues developed as a result of the issues with immigrants. They hated immigrants, immigrants happened to be tims, hence they hated tims

No the source of the hate was the fact that they were immigrants. The sectarinism was bourne out of this. The issus would still have existed had the immigrants been Protestant.
