Do you like Easter Eggs?

    They're mank. I didn't even really like them as a kid. Then again, I didn't like ice-cream when I was a kid either. :o

I have a weird thing with chocolate - I like it but I don't like it to be a main player in what I'm eating. If I eat a chocolate bar it has to be mostly made up of something else - biscuits/raisins/nuts/whatever. I don't go for chocolately desserts, and I don't like chocolate flavoured things like hot chocolate, chocolate ice-cream or mousse. Pure chocolate - bleurgh.

Sometimes I think I'm not a real woman! Waaaah! :(:o:D

    Anyone else indifferent?

Mods: please keep this in AH, please! We know people in the confectionery forum probably like them.

I am not a big chocolate fan either, I have more of a savoury tooth!!

I stopped getting Easter Eggs when I was about 11 as I realised that I didn't like them that much!! I am weird also with chocolate, sometimes the thought of eating it makes me feel nauseous, then I could get a few days around that time of the month where I crave chocolate.....strange!!!

Oh and those Lindt Lindor adds where they are pouring the chocolate.......Barf :(

I hate chocolate so usually get clothes off my Mam for Easter. I’m sure she curses me over having to spend €100 compared to €5.99 on an egg :D

I love chocolate but I have perfected a state of mind now whereby if I eat chocolate I get an overiding feel of guilt!

I'm still debating if I will have a small Easter Egg or not on Sunday!

Where did the whole chocolate egg thing come from?

Where I am, they boil eggs, paint and decorate them with the kids and the parents then hide them around the garden for the kids to go hunt and find on Easter Sunday. Much nicer tradition than giving them a kilo of chocolate imo!

Still have my (awesome) retro Yorkie one from last year, so I guess I've kind of lost my sweet tooth these days!
I like ones in retro packaging, or ones that come with mugs... Other than that I couldn't really give a flying ****!

I don't really like chocolate.. well apart from Galaxy chocolate. Dunno when the last time I ate an easter egg was. If I ever get one these days I give it to my nephew.

I'd sooner have a big bag of crisps.

If it's made with proper chocolate I love them (Swiss, Belgian, French).

Cadbury, Nestle and Mars all make rancid, fatty and sugary chocolate with very low cocoa content.

Kinder egg can't be beaten. Pricey as fook though!

Thats always an odd blast from the past when you're walking through the shop and amongst the new fancy eggs you spot the old fashioned yorkie or rolo.

I think easter eggs are great, but are mostly over priced. Thankfully some of them are now in boxes with no plastic and very little wrapping so good for the environment and at ~1.50 decent price too.

I had a friend bring me over some of these, can't wait until next week when I get to open them :).

Why yes I do. Im hoping for a Wispa or giant Kinder egg this year. I like to melt down the egg and make rice crispy cakes with them. :)

As much as I like(d) chocolate I made the decision a few months ago to give it up for fitness reasons, I'm not even tempted by it anymore, It's all about conditioning and will-power! Will power is a good man.

Out of curiosity, whys don’t you like Easter eggs?

You know in the Lindt egg where it shows them pouring melted chocolate into the sweets?
Well I wish that I could have an easter egg half full of melted chocolate, if there was some technology that could just maintain the warm melty liquidness of chocolate without it hardening or cooling, or melting the outer shell of chocolate.
Then I could break of pieces of the top half of the easter egg to dip into it. When I needed to eat the bottom half of the egg that was containing the melted chocolate, I could just pour it into a different bowl and dip the remaing egg into it to eat.

I'm not even a massive chocolate fan, usually prefer crisps, but by God do I love MELTED chocolate!:)

Things like crispie buns just have a bit per bun, the perfect amount!

Much, much nicer than the Cadbury's one, more 'jelly' in them!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 361 ✭✭silverspoon

I like Cadbury's ones; I still haven't got over the novelty of being able to get a Wispa one again. Can't stand Nestle chocolate though, their Easter eggs taste like cooking chocolate. I'd have to share an egg with someone, all that sweetness is too much. In our house if there's an egg we'd break off a bit and just leave it around for all of us to pick at. My little brother can polish off an egg in about five minutes though, he has a terrible sweet tooth.

Creme Eggs are disgusting, all that molten sugar repulses me. Pretty much everyone else I know loves them though.

Not a huge chocolate person myself really; I like decent chocolate like Lindt, and stuff like Milka and Ritter Sport (Quadratisch Praktisch Gut!) especially if they're nutty, but I much prefer savoury things like popcorn and such. All the one to the arse I suppose!
