Occasionally - not all the time.
Poll fails unfortunately. Not enough options.

He is as funny as cancer!

He is the exact opposite of funny. Unfunny, you may say.....

    Sweaty unfunny idiot.

(I don't like Lee Evans either)

I've been to funnier funerals than one of his stand up shows.

'Look at me I'm a drugs mule'

Ah I don't think he's that funny, I'd prefer Frankie Boyle. The man is comical, who remembers his joke on little Harvey?:D

I like some stuff but he's ott with all the sweating and falling over etc.
But hey if you're into slapstick humour..

    AH->Stand up.

I admire his energy on stage, but his jokes are just sh*t. It's all observational crap.

Like Stewart Lee said "I'm not like those sort of comedians.............I haven't noticed anything funny about your lives................They're not of interest to me."

Tries too hard and the buckets of sweat is off puting.

He has ADHD, so he is not funny. You're not supposed to laugh at mental people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,813 ✭✭✭take everything

    I'll give him this.
He and Matt Dillon made There's something about Mary.
That bull**** architecture conversation between them will always be funny.

And i think go a bit overboard with the hate when describing his standup.

I can't stand watching him because of how much he sweats.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,582 ✭✭✭WalterMitty

never found him funny. more a populist comedic entertainer than a stand up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 325 ✭✭I-Shot-Jr

Maybe if he was set on fire.

I like him. Always makes me laugh. Certainly more than Mike McIntyre.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 485 ✭✭Deregos

He stole his idiotic stance & small suit from the late Norman wisdom then added a pinch of swearing for some credibility = Comedy Genius . .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,573 ✭✭✭pragmatic1

Dont think hes funny at all. Hes a middle of the road stand up.

It's not just me who thinks he's a useless comedian then..

Too novel for me. No subtlety. He's all mouth and nose like something from The Bible.

Hate turning on comedy while scrolling threw channels on telly and it turns out to be him. One of the only comedians I don't even like a little.

Dont love his standup, but he was brilliant in There's Something About Mary

He's the funniest man alive. I went to his first gig in The Black Box Theatre last week and I had tears rolling down my face from laughing so much. And my stomach was sore the next day too. And he gave me his towel.

The man is hilarious..i've never enjoyed watching a comedian before as much as i enjoy watching him. I like Frankie Boyle, McIntyre can be funny too but Lee is just the king..

One of my favourite comedians i have ever seen live.

While most people don't consider him the best, He doesn't cross many lines with his stand up. Mainly a few sexist jokes here and there, But normally very clean humor which is extremely hard for a stand up.

Lee Evans is a truly awesome talent but currently he's being exposed to us on telly every night which tires me out and i'm a major fan.
Evans is a very special talent but he's only human and is'nt on top of his game every single night....who could beHe did a gig in Dublin last year and referred to notes all the way through his show.
I'd have been insulted only he has to warm to his material somewhere....anyway....he was still great.

Every post I read from those that like him I keep scrolling down further in the post for an aside where you severely berate the sweaty clown and don't really mean what you initially wrote - sadly, that hasn't happened yet:(

When they add to the excitement of the joke, they are.

Voted no on this. He is brilliant in Something About Mary. Not big into his stand up shows at all.

As has been said, he has taken Norman Wisdom's act and added swearing.

It's unoriginal, unnecessary and unfunny imo.

Don't get me wrong, I love slapstick but his just isn't funny, he overmilks the slapstick.

    I like him.

Got all his DVDs, but couldn't watch them too often...suppose the same as any standup show

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 258 ✭✭prettyinpink

Nope don't like him I have tried to give him a chance but the excessive sweating does turn me off.

wasnt a big fan either but went to see him in cork opera house recently my jaws are still sore...........from laughing :pac: no seriously though my opinion has changed, funny fecker

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

I just don't understand how anyone finds him the slightest bit funny. I honestly can't understand the appeal.

About as funny as a hammer to the balls, and he's totally ripped off Norman Wisdom. Who was also about as funny as a hammer to the balls.

He must have a very good agent, because he's never off the telly.

    Was good in Mousetrap though.

    Fair enough, humour is subjective.

    Unfortunately :pac:

At first, didn't like him, watched his older stuff first. Never particularly found his older stuff funny. But from watching his newer stuff I then found him very hilarious & understood the type of humour he does, then watching his older stuff became funny too.

Humour is very subjective as well, some comedians that alot of people find funny, I don't. All I know is that Lee Evans makes me laugh. His humour is very visual, his body does more than the actual talking, almost slapstick like but some of his jokes can sometimes be the same every show.
