Hi I've been going to the gym for a few weeks now to lose weight but yesterday I started to do some weights and again I done them today but when I came home I could hardly wash my hair my arms were like jelly did I over do it or is there anything I can do to combat this.
    Thanks.

I constantly have this after a good arms or legs workout. I think you are just exhausting the muscle to the point of failure and I believe thats a good thing. Be sure you eat pretty soon after a lifting session like that, maybe you left a long space in between?

Yes I done weights first then my cardio so that was about an hour

I'd always go cardio first to get warmed up, then weights, then eat asap afterwards.

I wouldn't worry about the jelly arms, give em a day or two recover and they'll feel great

Whey protein directly after workout, then eat an hour later!

Yes it would, the body digests it very quickly so it is ideal for post workout recovery, also it contains little to no carbs depending on brand, so you are more than likely going to lose weight if replacing it with a meal that contains carbs.

some protein soon after the workout is best, it doesn't need to be a protein shake, i prefer my protein from meals, chicken, turkey, red meat, eggs, nuts,

I usually train from 5 - 7 so once i get home i'd throw a protein filled meal, usually have a few scoops of peanut butter, washed down with some milk while waiting! :D

Re the weights then cardio, In my opinion doing weights 1st is better, i find that i'm more tired after doing cardio and can not give my all to the weights, where as the other way around cardio is still just cardio ya dont need 100% at it. i'd also rather fall over on a threadmill than fall over with 100kg across my shoulders!!!

Jelly arms is prolly just your body reacting to new stress. It's a good thing. I had it too when I started
