Recommendations for a running watch

    Hi,

I've recently starting jogging both indoors and outdoors, and will be relying on outdoor running for most of the summer, working up to a 10 mile run.

I'm looking to get a decent watch that measures pace/distance/pulse, but one that doesn't cripple me financially (I'm based in the US so can get one on ebay fairly easily 2 with free shipping).

Someone has recommended the Garmin Forerunner 110 which I can get for $179, can anyone recommend any others that would suit my criteria? Then I can compare prices. I'm quite technologically challanged so need something easy to use.

    Thanks a million,

    Katy

I got myself the Garmin 410 which has the Virtual Partner. You can set it up to run at a set pace or you can set it as your last/best run so you can race against yourself! :D

+1 on the Garmin forerunner 410.It's an excellent training watch and lightweight enough to wear.I usually have it set to overall running time, distance and average pace but there is loads of data variables you can choose from.
I bought it on Amazon.co.uk last year for approx 199 sterling but I reckon you could get them much cheaper now. It's worth the investment anyway.

I have the slightly older Garmin 405 and think its great for tracking all the things which need to be tracked - but they have a range of more basic and far cheaper models too

I got the garmin forerunner 110 for €108 on ebay, so I'm happy with that (my sister in law paid €200 for it in Dublin)

    Here's to many happy miles!
