Where to watch Boston Marathon online?

I don't have Sky Sports of Eurosport (don't know if they're even showing it anyway) but I was wondering is there somewhere to watch the Boston Marathon online?

I tried to watch the NY marathon online with Universal Sports last year and the service seemed to be bad and seemed to be cutting out a lot, in the end I just gave up.

I guess something with a good reliable feed and english commentary would be preferable.

Thanks for that, Might try to sneak a peek at it here in work!

I was checking out the Boston Marathon website, and I see there's an Irish lad among the elites... Alistar Cragg...

It's on setanta 1, I paid a tenner for the month. Cragg is in the leading group after the first 4/5 miles.

    Cragg 0:29:08 at 10k

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,492 ✭✭✭Woddle

There's 14 in the lead group which is led by Hall and there 40 mins into it, Cragg is still in this group but Hall has just surged again to take a few meters out of them.
    29'08 for Cragg after 10k
4'42 pace and also world record pace:eek:

They do have a slight wind helping them and I think it's a fastish start at Boston, hills still to come.

Good to hear of an Irish man doing well!!

While typing Cragg has now fallen back back into the second group which is probably sensible. Hope he hasn't wrecked himself with the fast start.

    Hall 43:45 through 15k after a 14:38 last 5k, on 2:03:03 pace!

if cragg decided to drop back its a smart move, close to WR pace at the moment.

Have to give it to Hall he really does believe in himself.

They are up over 1:30 for the first half compared with last year when the course record was set. Doesn't sound accurate to me but commentator just said it.

Weather could be a factor there - forecast was for a 18mph wind from WSW - on a point-to-point course heading NE that's pretty nice.

Kim Smith looks like she is getting caught but has about 30 seconds worth of a lead and she just nearly pulled up, sth really bothering her now, 1 hour 38 into the womens race, there now nearly on top of her

think he did the same last year - just runs at his own pace and not according to any group. Now, dear Lord - send me a stream!

Is Ral3 the only one from here doing this?

    Just to compare after 20k
    Hall 58'43
    Cragg 61'31

I don't know if we should be worried as there is no half or 25k time for Cragg but there is for Hall

Was just going to say that, doesnt look good for cragg :( but the splits have been updated at odd times and his 5k split didnt register either so fingers crossed.

The american Davila is looking really good in the womens race and is tryig to get the crowds going with a few hand/arm gestures, about 20 mins of running left.

So much for CBS online streaming, I'm not getting any picture through. Universal Sports also say it's not available in my area. Lovely.

Edit apparently the CBS streaming only works if you are in New England grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Fairly sure Cragg has dropped out as the site is still updating others.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,199 ✭✭✭G-Money

Yeah the commentators said it doesn't count as it's a downhill course.
