I was just thinking today about the amount myself and OH spend on fuel a month.

    I have a 1.2 litre petrol and spend 120 a month.

OH has a 2 litre Diesel and spends 160 a month.
Thats a whopping 280 a month of our income gone:eek:

Just interested what others are spending on fuel too......

I have a van with 1.9 diesel engine and the OH has a 2.0 diesel car and we spent about €200 a month on fuel.

€60/week on petrol  Insane I know but I travel from Dublin to Kildare for work everyday. The price I pay to live in Dublin :)
My OH doesn't have a car so that's our total expenditure on petrol.

    I suppose between:

    €380 and €475 on Diesel

    Company car.

Don't have the new car a month yet but I reckon somewhere between €400 - €500 a month.

About €400 per month. Not too bad for a 3.5 V6 I think.

Hoping to reduce this drastically for the summer months by using the Gixxer for work. :D

I have a 1.4 litre and spend €160 on a month. The OH also has a 1.4 and spends about the same.

€60 a week is nothing. You should be very happy with that.

    What are you driving?

    350 miles/week, circa 1400 miles/month and spending about £140 / €160 per month.

That's my commute to work, assuming I'm in the office for a five day week and don't end up working from home at all which occasionally happens.

350Z. It's lighter on the juice than I thought it would be.

For a weeks worth of driving pleasure, it's quite reasonable. :p

In fairness, I was paying €100 a week for petrol but I've moved closer to the n7 so am now saving on my weekly petrol bill! :)

About €140 per week (2 tanks) usually just for the commute and evening driving. If I do something at the weekend that's more again. And I try to make the most out of my free time so you could add another 2 tanks for weekends. So that's about €700 per month on go go juice...oh dear...

Sounds like you're driving something V8ish. Either that or you're commuting from the south of France.

€650 a month for two petrol cars. It would kill me to get a diesel but I might just have to consider it :(

About €400 a month at the minute in diesel + tolls :(

2L TDI Passat with a just under 200km daily commute Monday to Friday. Mostly motorway driving but still adds up rapidly.

Lol, no and no. It's getting serviced 2 and a half months since it's last one too.

Cork to Tip everyday, sometimes Carlow too and I suppose I don't drive in the most economical fashion either.

I used to spend around €300 a month but now I work from home 2-3 days so I'm down to €200 a month. What a waste of money. I really pity some of the higher milage people. With fuel prices going only one way it's not going to be easy.

about 5-600 a month in diesel, 3-4000km a month roughly

It's the first car I've ever owned that I don't mind shovelling petrol into. I love it.

Same engine ..... albeit tuned for torque rather than power. Carrying round the extra weight would make it a bit thirstier than the Zed though.

used to spend about 240 a month on petrol in my 1.3 colt. Now spending a little less than 80 a month in diesel in my 1.5 megane

Before I came back working in Cork work in Cashel was on the cards. Commuting that far every day didn't tickle my fancy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,791 ✭✭✭JJJJNR

doing 2300 km a month as a commute, I'm spending 330 euros just to get to work.

Each time I have a fun moment in the car I throw 5 euros into the glove box.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 375 ✭✭unknownlegend

Averaging 250 a month. Not bad considering... just a few long runs approx 150 miles each way.
Have to keep 'recreational' driving to a minimum :-(
