It won't happen, and tbh, its still not time for a new series. Another failure would ruin the franchise altogether. The last time Trek was shining was during DS9...everything since then has really contributed nothing & was a standing on the shoulders of giants type thing.

I think tv needs another long break from Trek, films maybe not, but I really can't see Trek fitting in anywhere today.
