A No Weights Home Routine

    Hey!
help needed! feeling and looking a bit soft after the college year! im 6"2 14 stone and in my early 20's.

i'm looking for a muscle building routine that i could do from home over the summer, pretty much just the upper body and arms, but i would fit in squats/lunges and such to mix it up or whatever!. the closest gym to me is about 30 miles away, hence my predicament! i have no access to typical weights at all but i have seen and heard of people using plastic bags filled with rocks/water bottles (plenty of rocks in laois!!;)) which i could manage as a substitute for dumbells of sorts :(. Other than that, im pretty sure i could manage any other exercise that can be performed on my own including chin/pull ups.

im getting back into hurling this summer so i should be covered with that as far as fitness and stamina is concerned.

just wondering if anyone has or knows of any "ready made" schedule or website i could use..??!

any help would be mucho appreciated!

You can buy a 50kg weights set for about €50 in Argos (the price of one months gym membership). You get a long bar and 2 dumbbell bars with that too. More than enough to get you started....

thats pretty good value! but i dont really want to use weights nor do i think i need to for what im looking to achieve. im really just looking to tone and build up my muscles as best i can without weights.

id rather spend my money on something i really need. im a bit of a rational tight arse tbh!

    thanks anyway though! :)

get a kettlebell, put up a pull up bar in a door frame, get a foam roll, a few bands and BOOM you're ready to hit it.

you can make a heavy sandbag pretty handy with a large duffel bag and a few binliners inside that sealed up.You can then do zercher squats, clean and presses, lunges, squats, rows etc..

find some place to do pullups, get a backpack to do weighted pushups.

Do that with intensity and you will probablly get better results than 60% of the gym population.

When I was smaller and working out from home I got loads of great info from ross training.com .Have a look at it when the websites back up .

Here's a primer to get you fired up..:D
