    Outrider

Arnold Schwarzenegger To Topline ‘Outrider’ Western Event TV Series In Works At Amazon
EXCLUSIVE: Amazon is developing Outrider, an event series with Arnold Schwarzenegger attached to star and executive produce, Deadline has learned. Also executive producing the project is Mace Neufeld, exec producer of Amazon’s upcoming series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan

Co-written/executive produced by Trey Calloway (APB, The Messengers, CSI: NY) and Mark Montgomery, Outrider is a mystery set in the Oklahoma Indian Territory in the late 1800s. It tells the dark and dangerous tale of a deputy who is not only tasked by a notoriously brutal judge with apprehending a legendary outlaw in the wilderness – but must also partner with a ruthless Federal Marshall to make sure justice is properly served. And as the story unfolds, not only will enemies become allies, but a series of unpredictable surprises will blur the line between good guys and bad.

Austrian-born Schwarzenegger would play the Federal Marshal who immigrated to the US from Europe as a child.

Outrider would mark the first major scripted TV series role for The Terminator and True Lies star and former California governor.

One for Supertroopers fans. Kirby Bliss-Blanton (Project X), Marcus Henderson (Get Out), Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island) and Gabriel Hogan (Condor) are set as series regulars opposite Super Troopers’ Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme in TruTV’s comedy pilot Tacoma FD.

    http://deadline.com/2018/02/tacoma-fd-kirby-bliss-blanton-marcus-henderson-eugene-cordero-gabriel-hogan-trutv-comedy-pilot-kevin-heffernan-steve-lemme-1202277999/

FD Tacoma: Co-created by and starring Heffernan and Lemme, Tacoma FD is in the style of humor of Super Troopers but applied to a new world and new characters. It is set in a firehouse in the wettest city in America. Light on blazes that need extinguishing, they are basically firefighters who are always ready to fight fires — but in this wet city, they also have to fight their own boredom

I remember really enjoying it when it first came out... in, say... an altered mental state. But I saw it again recently and it's not as good as I remember it.

The first 1 only got 2 out of 10 in a lot of reviews so 4/20 isn't bad for a sequel.......

Bryan Fuller, Hart Hanson Exit ‘Amazing Stories’ Reboot at Apple
UPDATED: Bryan Fuller and Hart Hanson have both exited the upcoming Apple version of the anthology series “Amazing Stories,” Variety has confirmed.

A source close to Fuller says that the parting was amicable. Fuller’s vision for the show did not mesh with the more family-friendly approach sought by Apple and Amblin Television. “Bones” alum Hanson had been on board for some time to serve as day-to-day showrunner, and was working closely with Fuller before also departing.

This marks the third show Fuller has departed in the past few years. Most recently, he and Michael Green exited the Starz series adaptation of “American Gods,” which Variety exclusively reported. The pair were said to have left that show over differences with producer Fremantle Media over the show’s budget and creative direction. Prior to that, Fuller was set as the showrunner on the CBS All Access series “Star Trek: Discovery” before stepping down in October 2016. It was announced in January that Fuller is now involved in a potential series adaptation of Anne Rice’s book “The Vampire Chronicles.” at Paramount TV.

The reboot of “Amazing Stories” was originally planned at NBC. Steven Spielberg is attached as an executive producer with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Spielberg’s Amblin Television also serving as executive producers. The 10-episode order for the series is part of a new content deal between Amblin, Apple, and Universal TV.

“Amazing Stories” ran for two seasons in the mid-80s on NBC, garnering 12 Emmy nominations and winning five. Among those winners was John Lithgow, who won the Outstanding Guest Performer in a Drama Series award for the episode entitled “The Doll.” The series was also one of the first resume listings for names like “Homeland” director Lesli Linka Glatter and Pixar director Brad Bird. Spielberg himself also directed two episodes during the show’s first season in addition to co-creating the series.

Facebook has given a straight-to-series order to a half-hour dramedy starring Elizabeth Olsen.

The 10-episode series, created by Kit Mteinkellner (Z: The Beginning of Everything), was previously set up at Showtime, where it went by the working title Widow. Much about the premise is shrouded in secrecy, but Deadline reports Olsen will portray a grieving widow who “reconnects with relationships from her past.”

Lizzy Weiss (Switched at Birth) will serve as showrunner, with James Ponsoldt (Master of None) on board as an executive producer and director. Olsen is also an EP.

‘The Umbrella Academy’: Ellen Page To Star In Netflix Series Based On Comic

    http://deadline.com/2017/11/the-umbrella-academy-ellen-page-netflix-series-based-comic-books-1202205323/

Mary J. Blige is joining the cast of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, an adaptation of Gerard Way and Gabriel B series of graphic novels about the “estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes.” The super-powered siblings must come together to solve their father’s murder, all the while “coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities.”

Blige is filling the series-regular role of Cha-Cha, a “ruthless and unorthodox hitwoman who travels through time to kill assigned targets.” Known far and wide for her sadistic, sociopathic tendencies, Cha-Cha believes only in torture and pain — and cares only for her partner Hazel.

surprised at that as I thought Olsen was trying her hand to do serious film roles but I suppose in this interchangeable climate of TV and Film it doesn't make much difference

Childs Play TV show in the works.
Child’s Play writer Don Mancini is working with franchise producer David Kirschner on a Chucky themed television series. According to Mancini the show is “deliberately set up at (the) end of the last movie,” and that the “tone is dark and disturbing.” The series will run under the name Child’s Play, and Chucky will be voiced by Brad Dourif.

No word on which network will pick it up.

    Safe

Michael C. Hall Is Back On TV With Netflix’s “Safe”
From what we know so far, “Safe” is going to be the next thriller series to make its mark on Netflix, and will be based off of the works of mystery author Harlan Coben. The series will be an eight part series, and will follow the story of a widower, played by Michael C. Hall, who is raising two teenage daughters on his own. After one of his daughter mysteriously disappears from their gated community after sneaking out to a party, rumors and secrets begin to surface. The show is also set to star French actress Audrey Fleurot, Amanda Abbington (‘Sherlock’), and Emmett J. Scanlan (‘The Fall’), and we are certain it will be filled to the brim with drama and edge of our seat suspense.

Although a premiere date hasn’t been released yet for when it is available to stream on Netflix, it has been announced that ‘Safe’ will be the closing night premiere for the CanneSeries festival. The festival is set to take place from April 4th to April 11th this spring, and is also set to coincide with MIPTV, which will be in Cannes as well from April 9th to April 12th. This festival will also include a competition that will involve 10 new and upcoming series that are expected to arrive during the year. However, the actual lineup of shows that will be competing at the festival won’t be announced until March 13th.

From the minimal amount of details that we have seen and heard thus far, there is quite a bit of hype that is surrounding the new Netflix series. With the return of Michael C. Hall, there is already a wide range of ‘Dexter’ fans that are anxiously anticipating the new series, and will love the excitement and thrill that will surround the story line. Make sure to tune in for more details regarding ‘Safe’, including trailers and release dates, as we get further into the year. We, just like all of the fans and audiences out there, can’t wait for the show to make its debut on Netflix in 2018.
