Best pre-order price available.. but be sure to use code '3HMVOFF30' to get the reduction.

To get it quickest, it's probably best to buy off Amazon for not a whole lot more though - see here!

Not available from Gamesnash for the time being unfortunately! :(

It's released next Friday 21st April.

Similar prices on Zavvi, thehut.com and asda but yours pip them by a small bit i think. I've never had a problem getting it on release day from asda. In fact, I recently had a problem with an order and it ended up shipping on the tuesday 22nd after order got refused on the friday 18th. It still arrived on launch day on friday 25th. Not bad if you ask me.

Also, for those who have yet to make up their mind as to which version to get, it should be noted that the PS3 version comes with another copy for the PC/Mac for Steam. Xbox360 version doesn't I'm afraid. I'm getting the PS3 version because I wouldn't mind owning both versions. Saving me some money in the long run. Even though my primary platform of choice is the PC. Worth the few extra € for the PS3 version too.

I had ordered with Amazon, but the delivery date was a week after release.

Ordered on Gamestop.ie instead. €39, but I'll get it on or before launch day :)

I was thinking of buying the ps3 version just so i could get the free pc version and then sell the ps3 game but I read you have to have a psn acc. to be able to get the pc version, is that true? Can people gave away the pc version also? If so, dibs :pac:

To get the free PC/Mac copy you need to link your PSN account with your Steam account so it mightn't be that easy to give away the PC version or retain access if you sell the PS3 version.

When did you get it for that price? It's €49.99 now.

Most retailers are selling it for €49.99.

Wonder if Tesco or HMV might be selling it cheaper on release day.

Ya, don't see the point in buying a retail copy on PC/Mac when you have Steam.

It'll be a hefty download though presumably..

.. the demo was up on 5GB but I presume that's probably the full game (which can then just be unlocked - not too familiar with Steam).

I'll be picking it up for PS3 and I'll install it on the Mac too.

With Steam, when you preorder the game they download it for you so on launch day it just needs to be unlocked. Great setup.

    Also, ordered, WOOHOO!

This bargain alert was a triumph. I'm making a note here : Huge success.

HMV have the PC version for £29.99 + Delivery (that code did nothing for me) for those of you with Steam but a broadband connection like Hank Hill's urethra.

It's only £3 off over £30, but you can use '2HMVOFF20' on the PC version to get it for £30.49 / €34.50 delivered.

Well then he might as well go with Gamestop.ie then. It's only €29 delivered for the PC.

Nah, I'd say it'll be mid-late in the week after release.

It's all a matter of can you wait.. you're gonna pay €50 most places in release.

So it's a question of save €15 and wait an extra week?

    €45 on Steam.
€28 from a number of places: [Link] [Link] [Link]

I believe the above retailers are offering free delivery atm.

If you can find a Briton who wants a copy, get them to get the two-pack and it's 27 or 28 euro to each of you. :D

You get both Portals for the €45. Since I lost access to my original steam account I might just get that offer.

Conservative estimates suggest that, 9 times out of 10, new games on Steam are a rip off for Eurozone members. ;)

They get a lot of praise for their sales too but these too are often lacking, particularly when compared to the prices offered to their American customers.

http://steamunpowered.eu/ points out price discrepancies between regions.

Pass. I'm still owed €33 from the four pack of Left 4 Dead 2. :D

    G2Play offering Steam version for €29.99 - http://www.g2play.net/store/Portal-2-Steam-Key-Pre-Order.html

Used them before for several games, including Left 4 Dead without problem.

Does that allow me to pre-load the game now though I wonder?

Nope, Xbox. Cheeky feckers! They did that two weeks ago, too!

First off, it's showing as 38.97 in my cart. I just added it.

If it's still €50 for you, email them. That's what I did, and they had to change it back. It was advertised as €38.97 until April 21st, and while stocks last. If they're still selling it, but for €50, it's in stock, and it's clearly not April 21st yet :p

    hello@gamestop.ie

EDIT: Actually, it says Reserve Now. I think it used to say Pre Order. It could possibly be out of stock, but just check with them

It was €49.99 this morning but it's €38.97 (ex. shipping).

Ordered it at that price... doubt any local retailer will be selling it any lower than €49.99.

    Portal 2 (New) (Pre-Order) PlayStation 3
    Will pop them an e-mail.

Oh, don't worry, then. If it got processed, it's in stock. I was just wondering why they bumped it up to €50 again. Enjoy!

Tried to order from gamestop.ie but it's €50 so I emailed them and it said expect a response 48 hours after Monday 9am, too long a response time seeing as I'm hoping it's posted this Wednesday.

Ordered from Asda hoping it will be delivered on delivery date (hope you're right kearneybobs).

Had to put my address as x, x, Dublin, Ireland, BT11AA, United Kingdom, not impressed with that though!

That's a bit weird. Shouldn't have. You did order it off of the adsa-entertainment site, didn't you?
    http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/home.dept

You might have ordered it off of asda.com inadvertently. If so, cancel and go with adsa-entertainment.

Yep ordered through asda entertainment. Used them for Scene It! bargain alert many moons ago and got that ok but it did have ROI as a country and it's using the same account.
Maybe something with not being able to deliver 'electronics' outside of UK, maybe they consider games electronics.

If all goes well I'll avoid the 99p delivery charge :D

I'd be shocked if any of the English sites will get it to you on release date..

.. if I was going with an English site, it'd be Amazon.

The estimated despatch date for Gamestop is Thursday so here's hoping it'll make my Good Friday a Very Good Friday! ;)

It's probably of no use to you now, but the original image they published said that it was valid for oreders placed before the 21st of April.
    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTraakWzivxOS19jE6id7y_N3IJclbzTL0cWJeQUTEwLuCfswCfFw&t=1

You can make it out on the bottom in the small print. Just about. Maybe try once again emailing them with the image there and let them know your disappointment. Might work, but I doubt it.

Yeah, I gathered that. They are still taking preorders, so the stock is there..... but I doubt that makes much difference to them. The designated 'preorder sale stock' has possibly run out, hence the price hike.

Yeah, that's what I was insinuating alright.

They had a certain amount available at the reduced price and when it's gone, it's gone (a lá Homestore And More! ;)).
