I caught a bit of this yesterday and IIRC I saw a lady of less than 63kg c&j 145kg!

Made all the more impressive as I was back doing front squats with a weight less than this! :D

Commentary is excellent and I think the co-commentator is Randall J Strossen who is the founder of Ironmind.

I must check and see if they have freeview section on their website for past broadcasts.

I caught some of this yesterday too - saw Semih Yagci c&j 192kg @ 76kg bodyweight, the speed of his clean was just unreal. Then not long after the Armenian coach started having a barney with the judges but I couldn't understand what it was all about as the feed was in Russian :pac:

Today must have been a repeat so, I saw the same barney. I think they were giving out about red lighting their litters first attempt when he jiggled the bar too much after his clean on his first attempt.

His knees were bent when he got the down signal so they started hasslin' the jury. Think security had to come in and haul their asses off. I can't understand how Armenian lifters still have working knees, they almost touch when recovering from their lifts.

I watched as much of it as I could.

I have to say that imo the more impressive lifts came from the women.

The mens +105kg class was a bit dissappointing even more so after watching the womens +75kg class.

Tatiana Kashirina was outstanding. 20 years of age, think she weighed about 96kg and is still a junior.

She broke the snatch world record, broke the junior c&j world record, broke the junior world total, broke the european c&j and european total.

The best other athlete in her class C&J'ed 140kgs and she snatched 146 and C&J'ed 181kgs.

She looked insanely strong with the bar overhead and the commentators were full of praise about how she was A) not that heavy for a +75kg lifter and B) a serious contender even against the Chinese lifters.

According to the commentators her technique is flawless and the pull etc. is immensely strong and fast.

I can't find the recent lifts but this from last years worlds at 19 years of age gives you an idea:

She's pretty textbook perfect alright. Awesome stuff :)

What impressed me the most was that she added a kg to the snatch world record and was only 6.5kg off the c&j world record but that she looked comfortable at these weights.

It seems that once she gets the bar into position standing up is (in relative terms) not that difficult for her which is incredible.

I'd put her performance down as the one of the championships.
