    Do you eat out everyday?

    Bring in your own?

I've only just started bringing in my own lunch & am quite pleased with the extra few euros I'm saving. I was sick to the back teeth of coffee shops, deli sandwiches & carvery muck I have been eating the last while.

So AH, what do you do for lunch?

    * besides fap, eat lunch at home because you have no job etc

Roll in spar, almost every day. Sometimes I bring in my own if I cooked enought the night before :)

Usually head out a local shop/cafe/food selling establishment and bring the food back to my desk where I surf t'internet. If it's a nice day out I'll go to the park.

I'd really like to bring lunch to work but I'd have a tough time thinking of what to bring.

I go through phases of this also, feeling great about myself. Usually lasts about three days then I resort back to buying my lunch (and my breakfast). I'm just too lazy to keep up the routine

I bring my own, I am saving a fortune but my lunch options are very boring. I need to jazz it up a bit or else I will end up giving up on it.

Used to drive up to the shop everyday but it was getting kinda expensive and half the time they were out of stuff.

So I usually bring in my own stuff now.

    I go with whore's breakfast.
    two ciggies and a coffee.
I always plan a salad for lunch in advance. Right up until the point I go and get some poxy roll or other from some purveyor of terrible food.
You've got a nation where half the working people in the country are getting fuelled from a petrol station deli.
    That's not right.

    I think...
better get something good, always getting junk food.

    Then I black out.

When I come to, there's an empty large McDonalds meal bag in front of me.

    Then I get dessert.

I would love a job like that!

sometimes go out for breakfast and work through lunch.
    bring in lunch some days.
    buy lunch at a deli.
If I can't be arsed then coffee and bar chocolate will do me.

i usually go home for lunch so have some kind of ham/chicken/salady sambo, or cheese on toast maybe a bowl of homemade soup too. cant stand the sh1te you get out of delis in general. going for lunch in a nice place is great but usually way too expensive so its just an occasional treat.

Feckin' posh people and your feckin' luxury 'breaks'. No time for those in my job...we're too busy making dodgy software & then fixing it (for a fee).

We do have a large canteen in work, but the food is a bit blah and overpriced.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 2,382 ✭✭✭Poor Craythur

    Always made lunch.

Cheaper and healthier and often yummier too.

Problem is, some days I just wouldn't feel like what I had made, even if it WAS yummy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,547 ✭✭✭Agricola

I bring my own, same as Ive been doing in school, college and and other jobs Ive worked in.
God bless the celtic tiger. I think in my 4 years in college I only ever saw one other person opening a lunch box in the college canteen.... and he was some weird foreign sort. Everyone else either bought a dinner or gourmet sandwich everyday of the week! Poor students me hole!

The first sign of a nervous breakdown is when you start thinking your work is terribly important.

You're grand once you're eating them without salt.

You're grand once the lunch doesn't come in a bento box.

Its rare I take a lunch, normally I'd work through it to get stuff out of the way & eat on the go.

Large Big Mac meal every day and a quart of Coke.

Bring my own normally. Tastier plus wouldn't really have time to go to shop/canteen.

Sounds like people are still in Celtic Tiger mode. If you bring in your lunch, it saves about three quid a day which translates to almost a grand a year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,465 ✭✭✭Archeron

I usually slowly peel and eat three hard boiled eggs while sitting outside the local cemetary.

(I dont really, but I know somebody who does)

Last week I was caught short and went to the bagel factory. **** ME! What a ****ing rip off! Nearly 6 euro for a bagel with barely a sniff of chicken in it. You'd have to buy 3 of the things to get a decent feed.
