    Tottenham VS Real Madrid
    White Hart Lane, 7:45 PM

    Live on RTE2

This game should be a good one, even if Madrid are highly likely to go through. I can see many goals happening, with the match probably happening 4-3 to Spurs or 3-3. Cristiano Ronaldo has 40 goals in total all season while Lionel Messi has 48. Expect Cristiano Ronaldo to be eager to get goals.

Spurs have done very well to get this far, so whatever the result it will go down as a very good run.

    Are you on drugs ?
Its been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Spurs cant play Real ,or are fit to wipe their shoes .Whats exciting about watching a fledgling team attempt to take on a team with the cups biggest history. The Inter game ,at least might be some bit entertaining .
    4-3 HAHAHAHA

I can see goals in this one, even though Spurs' is as good as a lost cause. As they've nothing to lose,it'll be an all out attacking game.
Would love to be over there for this.

If nobody knows about Kaká, he was doing well the first half of 09/10 which is when he signed for Real, but then he got some niggles. He played the last couple of weeks of the season but instead of getting an operation on his injury straight away which would have healed him quicker, he fecked off on his summer holidays then came back to get the operation. He was out until mid-January of this season but has been slow to come back, only making sporadic appearances.

He has started the last game at the weekend though and has looked good when he played. Of the 9 games he has appeared in since mid-January he has gotten 4 goals. There is a slight possibility he may start, but definitely expect him from 60 minutes on. Other injuries, Benzema is coming back after missing 3 games. He scored 10 goals in his previous 7 games before injury. Ronaldo had some injures in March but they all seem to be behind him now as he has scored in his last 2 games.

Why include Ronaldo's international tally and neglect Messi's?

Messi has 49 goals and 25 assists in 48 appearances if you include his Argentina haul. He should go on to beat Puskas' all time Spanish record of 52 in a season.

Spurs will just be going out to salvage some pride, the most they can hope for is a win really, the tie is over.

    Marca have that at 49.

It's a dead rubber really at this stage. No chance of Spurs overturning a 4-0 deficit. And chances are Real will score themselves, which would leave Spurs needing 6. I think we can safely say this one is over as a contest, Spurs will be looking to restore a bit of pride now though after last weeks mauling.

I could see spurs scoring 5 but they'd probably concede six . Hope It's a good game though .

Well then Marca is obviously right, they'd never try to make it any easier for God to ruin yet another one of their clubs records. :p

The tie is dead but there should be goals. Real should at least score 1 meaning Spurs will need 6. RTE got the short length of the straw with the way the 1/4's panned out.

Can't see us mauling any Mourinhio team by 5 goals but hoping we can win the match and reduce the deficit. Hopefully we come away with a good performance and no injuries.

Fully expect Madrid to go through, but our only chance of a good game is if Sprus score early and keep Madrid from getting an away goal.

I don't think even the most die hard Spurs fans seriously believe that we'll win 4-0, but that doesnt mean we can't hope, right? I'd be just happy to go out and give a good show of ourselves, after an amazing first season in the Champions League. There's been plenty of doubters, and plenty of stupid posts about 'being at our level' and 'small minded team' and other **** like that, but at the end of the day we are in the quarter finals of the champions League.

    Can't argue with that :D

Kay Murray, Real Madrid Tv presenter on Twitter

RM Starting XI: Casillas, Arbeloa, Carvalho, Albiol, Ramos, Marcelo, Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Cristiano and Adebayor.

Im surprised he isnt giving Higuan a run out unless he isnt registered. Its pretty much a full strenght team. I dont think Mourinho has much faith in his bench

For Real Madrid everyone up to Marcelo plays in defence. (Casillas GK)

Who the hell will he put as the "anchor man"? Mourinho can't play 5-2-3!!

lol at RTE hyping up a possible comeback there.

    Not happening kids.

there are semi-colons separating the defence; midfield; forwards.

Marcelo is included in the midfield area, so I expect him to play as a left winger / left midfielder, which isn't much of a change for him.

    EDIT: In Jigga's post, not Pauleta's :D

This should be a good game actually because the tie is over and both sides can play with freedom, especially spurs.

Hah, I love how RTE do it.
Just get in three lads and have a half educated talk about football. Formula for success :)

2-1 Spurs methinks. Reckon they'll score two goals without reply in the first half only to get caught on a counter attack as they look for the third.

The only thing lacking is that Katie Taylor didn't knock the sh*t out of Tinie Tempah.
