decreasing body fat

Form the last year I have been looking to put on weight. Now however I would like to lose some, more specifically fat.
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could outline a diet that would be suitable for losing body fat but not to lose muscle. I know this would mean maintaining my protein intake and reducing carbs. As I play hurling 4-5 times a week sometimes I find I need that slice of bread or bowl of cereal to keep me going.

Apologies if i'm rambling on a bit, but should I be upping my cardio work? Maybe a run ever morning of about 4-5 miles in 35 mins roughly?

You don't have to take carbs out completely so just have them around the time you have hurling training so you have energy. Start reducing your carbs slowly and up your protein intake. If you are losing weight after reducing carbs then keep going until the weight loss begins to slow, then have a look at your diet again. Maybe decrease carbs further and increase fats at that stage or just up your cardio. Make sure to keep protein high and fats at a decent level at all times
