Yanmar parts

Hi
I need a part for a 25 hp yanmar 3 cyl diesel engine. I need a starter motor. The engine is from approx 1980. Im finding it realy hard to get the model number from the engine block. Does anyone know where the best place to get these kinds of parts is ? any info would be very welcome.

Hi, If you can't find the number on the engine look for one on the starter motor.
It might be one of these.

Hi,
Thanks for the links,They are proving to be very helpful. The engine model number is Yanmar 3HM35. Ive seen the starter and it can cost anything from €100 to €400 anyone out there with a seccondhand or reconditioned one ?

You could also have your one reconditioned there are quite a few places around Ireland. I would think you are still looking at €100-€200

If your starter is still spinning but not engaging it might be just the bendix or solenoid that you have to get fixed.
