The guys probably laughed it off afterwards.

Dunno, someone maybe requested it under Freedom of Information? There's nothing groundbreaking in the memo, just another reported flying saucer. Not sure why it would be sent to the director, maybe that's standard protocol? They get sent to the director as a matter of course, and they just accumulate on his desk?

Or maybe it was a particularly zealous FBI agent, with a keen UFO interest.

Just like Roswell, the disk was probably just from a military research program.

The only difference is that there are no official documents describing these bodies. What is somewhat startling is that they didn't go into detail about how many saucers were recovered and how many bodies were found. There were 3 in each, yet they refer to multiple flying saucers.

Reread more carefully and they said three had crashed.

I'm sure that they've denied that there are any aliens visiting the Earth, but they've acknowledged unexplained sightings before.

They have been landing since 1950 at least and all they seem to be doing is crashing and kidnapping drunken hicks and the odd cow, hardly a great platform to world domination.
