The AK47 has shaped the lives of billions of people. Such a nasty invention.

The best invention - cooked meat. It gave humans the requisite amount of protein to become smart enough to make all the other **** that are classed as inventions.

That's not really an invention though more of a discovery. We had been eating meat before we learned how to cook it so it didn't really contribute that much to our large brains.

Fair point on the discovery. However the body could not process raw meat. Cooking it facilitated bigger brains due to higher intake of protein. It can't be stated in strong enough terms how vital it was to our incremental increase of intelligence.

We started by scavenging other animals kills, all that was left for us was the marrow in the bones which we have no problem digesting. This would have been before we where even the humans we are today, there are many other parts we can eat without cooking too. We only really switched to scavenging these kills when the environment changed from forest to open plains meaning the traditional forest fruits we would have eat disappeared.
