    Hi,

Im only 18 and I think I have a problem with my hearing.

I always have to strain to hear what people say unless I am listening really intently and on nights out I can't really hear at all.

I do listen to music quite loud when I'm in the car by myself and I used to listen to my iPod on a pretty loud volume quite a lot but I've stopped doing the latter now.

I do think the problem may be down to excessive wax in my ears that I cannot clean out as it is too deep rooted (I've always had to clean my ears like everyday) but I am wondering do you think I have permanently damaged my hearing?

If this is in the wrong place please move it.

Anybody with a similar experience or any doctors please comment.

You probably haven't damaged your hearing. If you are cleaning your ears daily with q-tips it is likely that you have compacted wax into your hear and thus muffling everything you hear. Go see your GP or an ear specialist. Nobody will know what is wrong with you until you see a professional. It is likely from what you've said that you will just get wax removed which is a simple procedure that a GP can perform but you would be better off going to an ear specialist, especially if wax is not the problem.
