I've been working out and watching what I eat but I know not eating veg is going to slow down my progress

I need to start eating my greens...

I don't know if it's a mental thing but I get sick/heve when they hit my throat .... How can I get my greens?? How can I hide them lol can I blend them?? Make a veg shake

    Any info would be great.

There's plenty of veggies out there there's no way you hate them all. Find ones you like and just eat those.

You should check out the vegetarian forum for some recipe ideas?

Just some ideas off the top of my head: roasted veg (use small bit of olive oil and shake seasoning over them), stir fry (limitless options with this one), soups (you can blend the veg if it's the texture you don't like). Don't forget salads - plenty of leafy green veg and lots of colour, cook them with eggs to make a frittata (sp?), add sneaky ones to your bologense or shepards pie (e.g. grated carrots won't be as noticeable as slices)

    hope that helps.

You mean you NeVeR eat veg?? :D

And with the messing aside lol, I dont think I eat enough veg either. But generaly I just eat diced steamed broccoli mixed in with my brown rice, that and my loads of chicken and steak, yum. Ive just got use to eating plain food after years and years of it.

I'm the worst eater I know.

    Things i dont eat

Rice/pastas -- and anything that falls under these.
    Veg - Only potatoes.
    Salads - Never eat them
    Fish

    Things i eat

Meat - I eat nearly all meats. ( No liver though)
    Potatoes

My dinners would be one of the following

Chicken/Beef/steak/pork with Mash/baby potatoes and gravy

Thanks for the replies i might try the stir fry one.

    ...........Im not alone then.

I am in the same boat as you mate. Everything you have said here about veg i can relate too. Its not so much the taste as the texture for me sometimes and it brought on a gag reflex.

The replies you have gotten so far are the best advice as I got similar and it works. I still wont order a salad when eating or have loads of veg but when cooking for myself I through in the veg........as I know its good for me and I need to be healthy.

A few ideas...........stir fries/Mexican food or anything with spices is great for masking the taste. When doing a stirfry or some fajitas I would have one each of the following in the pan, red pepper, green pepper, yellow pepper, onion and some chiili peppers along with some chicken or beef strips or for stirfry I get the stir fry veg mix from tesco and lob em into the pan with beef strips and some egg noodles. Add some spices or like me use some Levi Roots sauce to add a kick to it ot the fajita powder as it gives it a nice smokey taste to the veg and meat.

Another is stew. I love it. 3-4 carrots, 2 onions and a few spuds and loads of meat. If done right the veg is nice and soft and actually tastes good.

Boil a load of veg up with some bay leaves and blend the crap out of them and you have a soup.

Lastly I would suggest roasting. Ok it can be time consuming but if someone had told me I would be eating parsnips, carrots etc a few yrs ago I would have laughed in there face and kept eating my snackbox. I found out that if you drizzle honey over some parsnips and roast them they are delish. Fry them and they taste like chips, no kidding.

I have a couple of other threads from very recent here where I was looking for similar advice..............some nice ideas there too for you

Ok thats all I have for now so I hope this helps..............good luck

    frAg

What about soup? Do you like that?

Do you like curry? If you take a stirfry pack of mixed veg (about €2 in most places) and fry that up and add in a bit of curry paste, some tumeric and cumin (these are all spices you will find very easily in any supermarket) and add some chicken stock. Then let this simmer for awhile in a pot and then blend it completely, it makes a lovely curry sauce thats basically all veg. Thats another way to get it into you!

Another thing id advise you to try is sweet potato and then butternut squash and then get used to a fresh taste of veg in your mouth and move onto sweet veg, like sugar snaps and stuff and eventually you just get routined into eat some more veg.

Must be difficult. I rarely eat them and I don't have that mental block, just not arsed.

You could blend peas/green beans and pour them into a curry/burrito sauce/stew whilst cooking, wouldn't taste them then.
