    Hi guys

I'm doing the 10k run in Phoenix park on sunday

The problem I have is that I'm just over a flu/cold which kocked me back for 3 weeks with no training

I ran on Thursday and Saturday and struggled to do 5k

Before getting Sick I was doing 10k approx 3 times a week, now I I'm shattered doing 5k

How am I going to manage to do the 10k on Sunday?

Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated

You'll probably have to run/walk it or consider not doing it at all. I had flu back in January, of the full blown swine variety and it took me over 6 weeks to get back to running normally and a number of sports massages were required to get my legs upto speed with the rest of me.

I would second what RacoonQueen said 100%

Forget about running for a time and treat it as a slow training run just to see how you feel. Don't be afraid to walk part of it or pull out altogether if you are not feeling it on the day. Better to take it a little easy and use it as a step back into normal training, than to push it and set you self back further with more time off.
