I'd fancy us to just about do it over the 2 games.

It's gonna be epic one way or the other. I'll say 1-1 at Stamford Bridge and 2-2 at OT.

Not if it's 2-2 at Old Trafford though.
    See what I did there.

    3-1 to Chelsea overall.

We have a very good record at Old Trafford so I wouldn't say that, realistically though we do need to be taking a lead to Old Trafford, hopefully with no away goal conceeded. :pac:

    Predicting two draws here.

    Fabio Smalling Vidic Evra
    Valencia Scholes Carrick Park
    Rooney
    Hernandez

Park instead of Nani??? Can't see Nani not starting,Fergie only gave him 3 minutes against West Ham so he'll be fresh.
It's gona be a tough game seeing as Stoke all but ended Chelsea's league chances so they'll be pushing hard for the CL.
Fergie has started the mind games already, claiming Chelsea have had all the luck against Utd.

Anyhow I predict a 1-1 at Stamford Bridge and United to got through after a 2-1 win at OT.

2-1 Chelsea at the Bridge, 2-1 Utd at OT. After that extra time and god only knows what

Fergie likes to play Park in big games like this to keep things tights on the left. Don't be surprised.

    I'd expect something like...

    VDS
    -Fabio----Smalling----Vidic
    Evra
    Scholes---Carrick
    Valencia
    Park
    Nani
    Rooney

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,778 ✭✭✭Pauleta

I fancy Chelsea for this as long as they keep Torres on the bench

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭shadowcomplex

I can nearly see Berbatov playing in this, he turned the game when he came on yesterday

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭shadowcomplex

I think we should go with

    vds
    fabio-vidic-smalling-evra
    valencia-scholes-carrick-park-
    berbatov-rooney--

When scholes tires put park in the centre beside carrick and bring on giggs or nani

I think Chelsea will win the overall tie by two goals. 3-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and 1-1 at old trafford.

Two draws, extra time and a red card, peno missed/saved, shoot-out with 3-2 result for Utd.

I think Chelsea will win 3-1 at SB and United 1-0 at OT.
Really looking forwad to this. I hope Chelsea really go all out in the first leg and I think that's the only attitude for them to have. Utd will concede goals, how many I think will be down to how happy Chelsea will be to be 1 or 2 up. If they go for it they could get 3 I think. Torres will get off the mark in Europe iver the 2 legs - it is kinda set up for him.
Either way I see Chelsea going through over the 2 legs.

    Rooney is the key IMO.

he's getting his finger out at just the right point in the season. if he continues to do it, he'll be hard to stop.

having said that, my money's on Chelsea overall. just.

Certain defeat for United. No question in my mind.:)

I'd go for goals at Stamford Bridge myself, f*cking take the shackles off, have a right go at them. In particular have Nani run constantly at Boswinga who I think is a bit of a weak link. Away goals will decide this, theres no reason why United couldn't go back to OT with a couple in the bag.

1-0 Chelsea and 0-0 in the 2nd leg.

    VDS
    Fabio-Vidic-Smalling-Evra
    Valencia-Scholes-Carrick-Park
    Rooney

    Chicharito

Think Rooney is much better when he is running at goal, not with his back to goal and seems to have a good reletationship with Chicha.
Bring Nani on for Park when he starts to tire and the game opens up.

Think United's biggest problem will be defending set pieces against Chelsea whi are very powerfull in the air.

1-1 at Stamford Bridge and 2-1 to United at Old Trafford HOPEFULLY ANYWAY

Our biggest Problem is mis firing strikers.Hopefully Malouda stays on the bench!!! Hoping Ramires will cause problems & help Bozzy handle Nani!

The loss of Luiz and Atkinson will be hard to overcome for Chelsea :p

1-1 1st leg. United to win 2-0 at OT.

Think our main plus is our midfield.Lamps,Essien and Ramires should dominate it for the entire game.

Sadly I can see this happening... We'd need to spread play out to the wings and use Nani / Valencia as much as possible. Midfield just isn't going to cut it against Lampard and Essien. Hopefully Scholes plays out of his skin just one last time :)

I cant make my mind up on this one, its 50/50. The thing is that both sides are well capable of going to the others patch and winning. Actually I can see it going to penalties, cringe:mad:

After Berbatov's performance when he came on yesterday he should definitely start; then have Hernandez come on if necessary. I can see a scored draw in this half of the tie — that's only my prediction — but overall it's really hard to figure who will go through, United and Chelsea are both more than able to beat each other.

But this is a two leg European Cup tie, not a Premier League game, I don't know why, but I reckon this makes a massive difference..... In United's favour, just a feeling.

Chelsea to go through fairly comfortably...The game a few weeks ago was pretty much dominated by Chelsea no matter how many dodgy ref claims were thrown about. United don't have the midfield to compete with Chelsea. Don't think Hernandez is cut out for this kind of game and Berbatov should get the nod ahead of him.

Hopefully Torres will get off the mark too.

Wonder what duo Carlo will put up front.
Another goal by the Drogba at the weekend must surely have him penciled in for a start. Don't think theres any point in playing him with Torres though (famous last words!) hes not too fond of passing the ball in the Spaniard's direction too often.
Hopefully go with Anelka and Torres, the last half hour, bring on the Drog and let him do the bullying of the United CB's.
Wonder will Yossi come off the bench...

Hopefully Torres starts for Chelsea. United midfield needs Nani and Valencia to start on the wings.

yet we couldnt beat Stoke with our strongest team and got outplayed! :(
Cech was our best player, says a lot really!

    Cech

    Ivanovic
    Terry
    Cole
    Ramires
    Essien
    Lamaprd
    Malouda

Change Malouda for Zhirkov and I'd be happy enough.

I think it might be Giggs and Nani on the wings with possibly Park through the middle behind Rooney. Chico and Valencia as impact subs or bring on Berba if we have a lead.

Possibly, except given that Torres is now a Blue, I'm guessing that they will be aiming the big bad "F" word to that Rooney chap for the shíts n giggles 'n all.
