I'm going to end up with an Arts Degree in Geography when I should be doing a degree in Zoology.

I know I have no money worries and am worried about what degree I'll do, it's awful.

My biggest worry is not being able to move back to Ireland for a long time. We want to move back this time next year but I'm worried, due to job prospects for my OH we won't be able to and we'll have to go somewhere else. It's a constant thread of worry that is always on my mind. I'm the kind of person who hates uncertainty as well.

Also, same as most people - monies.

    Watching some good friends scream?

My grandad just had a bit of health scare, and my dad has been ill for the past two weeks with no improvement. Hoping they both get better very soon.

I'm a bit of a panicker though, if I text husband and he doesn't reply I fear the worst and imagine all manner of accidents. :o So most of my worries are irational.

I did a stress management course recently and a huge part of it was about the biochemical aspects of stress - how it affects your health. It was hugely interesting and very beneficial.

Anyway, the course coordinator kept saying the same Mark Twain quote every so often and it really stuck with me. It went along the lines of

"some of the worst things that happened to me, never happened".

I'm a big worrier too so I try and remember this when I get myself worked up over something.

My biggest worries are, which bills get paid this week, and sitting exams for the first time in 15 years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,195 ✭✭✭Corruptedmorals

Trying to salvage my degree. Dissertation only started in January due to ineptitude of course supervisors and no guidance. Massive essay due mid January. (5,500 words..only 5 credits!) Two essays due March 7th.(3,500 each NO credits) Dissertation due 21st. (15,000, 20 credits) Two essays due April 4th (both of which together count just as much as the dissertation, 5,000 each). It's absolutely ridiculous pressure to be under, 40 credits in two weeks. My health is in bits, and I think if this went on any longer than Monday my mental health would be affected. I know final year is tough, but most other courses are well into their dissertation by November in 4th year, planning before summer. Other courses too have other deadlines more spread out. It doesn't help that nobody else submitting these essays is doing both. They're double-marked, I feel like I'm at a disadvantage but I'll have to get over that feeling. Even the lecturers for each course pity me! Spending most of the libraries opening hours in the library, this weekend I am not sleeping. I have 2 exams in May but I'm not pushed about them..until the end of April. Rant over, back to essays.

I know this might sound soo terrible after reading some of the other posts there, but the biggest worry in my life right now is how much I hate my job and how its stressing me out to the point i actually need to see a therapist.
